Chapter 7: The Elders and their King

"Good morning. Name and pack please?" the guard asked while looking at the list. With his well-built physique, you can already tell that he's not just a guard.

"Raven Grimheart of Dark Black Mystique pack," Kaydon said. I told you he always does the talking and not me.

"Welcome, Alpha Raven," a woman holding a sash said politely and tried to put it on him, but Kaydon stepped back and pointed at me. The woman shot me a questioning look before pinning the sash on me. We immediately entered the vast meeting hall and sat down in the chair she provided for me. I could feel their confused and inquiring gaze, but I ignored it.

I looked around the hall, but someone caught my eyes. He's looking at me like I'm meat. If I'm not mistaken, that man was the King himself-the butthead King. I frowned and glared at him and mouthed, 'what are you looking at?'

After glaring at him, I averted my gaze disgustedly.

"Is it already clear to you to hand over your title to someone and step out as an alpha?" Onix said.

"No! And I don't have to listen to your blabbering," she replied.

"Watch your language, lady," Elton suddenly outburst and stood up.

"For all I know, you elders didn't do much of help. Some rogues attacked the packs, or war had occurred under your pathetic supervision, but you did nothing. What are you all doing? You are just relaxing while we Alpha, trying to protect our pack members. You are assigned to secure and protect everyone, but you keep your mouth close," I was calm while talking.

"Are you insinuating that we didn't do our job?" Onix asked gloomily, grinding his teeth. His face was so ugly in anger.

Fighting an elder even if you're Alpha is useless because you can't win. They can easily defeat you. Alphas have no match to an Elder. But I'm confident that I can.

"I'm just stating the fact."I didn't budge.

Suddenly, I heard a loud growl through the entire hall. Everyone around cringed in fear, except for the Elders and me. I stood there calmly, unaffected, judging Onix's face; he was so mad.

"Don't disrespect us, lady. Remember to stand in your place," Scarf uttered, the only elder with the most composed and collected side.

"You did not do anything to gain my respect, council. I will remain the Alpha of my pack and continue to be their leader. So, can I leave? Attending this meeting is a waste of time," I spoke and began to walk away.

Onix did not give up so easily. I can tell that something might happen.

As expected, Onix changed into his wolf form as I walked away. Onix leaped and tried to confront me and pin me down, but I just moved sideways and avoided his attack, leaving Onix, who was burning with furry.

When Onix lunged against me, I swiftly caught his neck and threw him away.

I said, "do that again, and I will give no mercy to you." I leave after saying that with my beta and Blanche following me.

"We will remember this, Raven, for humiliating us," Onix announced, shifting into his human form.

"Then, I'll be waiting for you," I said smugly and finally left the hall.

A sarcastic laugh escapes from my mouth. The Elders want me to respect them? Seriously! They're just an Elder. I can't even respect the King, and they want me to do that to them? No fucking way!

I angrily throw my bag at the corner of my office. My eyes are raging with fire as I sit in my swivel chair.

Why did I even go to that stupid place and attend that useless meeting?

If I didn't stop myself earlier, that elder would have already stopped breathing in my hand. But I'm not a lowly wolf who put my feet in the same shoes. I can still maintain my morals and be a good person in the eyes of others.

"Really? You think you're a good person?" Claw uttered in mockery.

"Of course! I'm kind to everyone," I shamelessly replied.

"Even if you're involved in everything like killing someone?" she muttered innocently.

"Yes. Those people I have slain are the ones who have sinned against me and have a wicked soul," I insisted, trying not to lose face to my wolf spirit.

"Ah, whatever! I have no comment," she murmured lazily before retreating to the corner of my mind.

I heaved a deep sigh and leaned on my swivel chair. I massaged my temple; my head had hurt since I went to that royal meeting. If I had only known that would happen, I wouldn't have gone there, and I just wasted my time listening to their nonsense words.

My brows creased when Blanch suddenly entered without knocking. Damn this woman! Can she even give me some privacy at a time like this? I'm in no mood to entertain her.

"Can I come in?" she asked when he noticed that I was in a bad mood.

"Do you still have to ask? You're here already," I uttered impatiently. If she's someone in our pack, she had already flinched with the tone I used.

My members knew what I'm capable of when I'm angry and don't want to be disturbed. But she is Blanch, the only woman who knew me most than anyone here in my pack. She's the only person who can soothe and calm me whenever I'm furious.

"Oh! It seems that my badass and high and mighty Alpha is infuriated. The meeting didn't go well, am I right?" she joked and carelessly seated herself at the table's edge.

My mouth remained shut because I felt so tired that I didn't even want to talk. Besides, Blanch already knew what happened earlier as she was just outside the hall waiting for us.

"Alright! My bad! I shouldn't have forced you to attend the meeting. I'm sorry," she finally said, sighing when I still ignored her.

"Yeah!" I mumbled and turned my gaze out the window and thought.

Blanch sighed and said, "even if you don't respect them, Raven, you shouldn't have provoked the Elders."

Leave me some comments. Please.
