Losing the ones that you care about is normal.

So he fired 7 arrows at once. 

"I am going to kill you!!" Kael's eyes looked red from anger and rage.

It seems the anger from losing a brother has made him forget why he had retreated in the first place. 

The arrows did not move in one straight line. Instead, just like before, the arrows were moving in a zig-zag motion, making it very difficult for Kael to predict the trajectory of the arrows.
