Chapter 4 — I might get addicted

—Irina Pov—

It's been a week since Mia and Leo started studying together and it seems like they've gotten used to each other's company. I'm happy for Leo as he won't be alone for so long.

Although I try to accompany him when I'm not busy, time is very short and I always worry that he might get hurt or feel lonely.

He doesn't show it, but I can see through people's behavior thanks to my training, and I can tell that Leo feels sad somewhere in his heart. He doesn't have a very close relationship with anyone besides me, maybe that's why he's always looking for new things to learn.

Even so, he is still a very cunning boy. In just one week he was able to understand Mia's situation by asking simple questions that could suggest possible scenarios and possibly deduced the correct one.

I knew he was planning to do something the moment I saw his smile that day. The times that he smiles are very few and always happen when he is reading some strange book, no doubt he noticed that there was something strange with Mia's arrival in this house.

Even if he's not up to my master's level in interrogation skills he certainly has talent, maybe we can become the best spy duo in the future, with my skills and his intelligence we could complete any mission easily, although I don't know what he'll think of it me when he knows I'm a murderer...

I can't help but feel dejected every time I think about the future, so much could happen and all that comes to my mind are images of Leo walking away from me...

Mia lowered her head and began to slowly return the books to the shelf.

A few days ago I confirmed my suspicions about Mia's background. Apparently, her father has a company or several related to tourism, perhaps he own hotels. She was an only child and recently they have had financial problems, possibly there was some conflict with other companies.

The situation only got worse and they were forced to send her to this orphanage, they even cut her hair. Of course Mia thinks she is visiting the house of her great aunt, who adopted several children, while her parents are on a business trip.

I'm not sure this is the whole story, but it's all I can know from Mia.

At first it was quite a hassle to teach her how to do the basic things but I had to in order to ask her the information I wanted to know.

Mia and I are the only children who have our own room, the others have to share it between two, so it was no problem spending time in her room teaching her how to keep it tidy.

"Irina is running late, so you can finish reading what you were reading. She probably won't be here for another half hour."

"Eh? it's okay?!"

Mia's eyes came to life at the sudden news and she couldn't help but get emotional.

It's a relief that she's a smart girl, it would have been a real bummer if she had to teach him how to read. Also, maybe it's because she's still a kid but she's very easy to please.

There are many books in this library and it seems that they all belong to Leo, some children in the house call this place 'the cave', they always ask me if I'm okay or if Leo did something to me, he's a bit bossy and boring, but I have not seen him doing something strange, he likes to read a lot though.

Every time I see him, he has a book in his hands and they are very thick. I have seen that some of them have quite a few images though.

I'm about to finish reading my first book, it's one that tells the story of a star that fell from the sky and traveled the world looking for a way to return to dark space, where he could fly and shine without limits.

After several years traveling around the world, he saw and got close to many people, he did things he never thought he could achieve, he had always flown through the dark space showing off his brilliance to everyone, and he never thought there was something that could make him just as happy or maybe more.

The star did not know what to do.

If it couldn't shine, what else should a star do?

The things he experienced filled him with smiles and tears, his first friends and colleagues had died many years ago.

The poor star would live for a long time, and the people around him would leave him alone at some point.

Leo has a slim body but he is the most handsome boy I have ever seen, his mom must be very beautiful. His eyes are quite captivating, even sometimes I can't help but stare at them for a long time.

'Does he like something about me? I am very pretty too so he should also look at me more, right? Mom said that when I grow up many men will become dummy for me'

While washing my body with a wet towel and soap I heard strange sounds.
