Chapter 3: Orientation and Pikachu

Date: April 4th

The door to the room opened and Brendan entered with a suitcase and several duffel bags.

"Damn, you're here already? You're way ahead of things than I am, now you're gonna take all the good spots in the room" He jokingly complained.

"I just came here actually" Red said

"I know, well, at least you got some of your things unpacked" Brendan pouted jokingly.

(A/N: I wrote their whole conversation and I got kicked from inkstone and lost it all, so it'll be rushed and short and be more like a summary)

After Brendan talked about the gym he found in the Helix section, Brendan and Red agreed to become gym buddies and gave each other their phone number.

They headed to the auditorium for the orientation and saw the room packed with students.

Red was admiring the sight of the room whilst Brendan was in his own world looking around the room.

'Probably looking for May' Red thought.

Shortly after, May and Brendan come back to Red together. "Hey Red!" May said excitedly. "How's rooming with Brendan?"

"Well, we didn't spend long in the room before having to leave for this orientation, so I can't say fully, but he's cool, so far." Red said.

"Yeah! We became gym buddies!" Brendan said

"But wow, there's a lot of students here huh? It's hard to believe everyone here is the same age as us" May said in shock of the room with hundreds of chairs and students in one massive room with a stage.

Suddenly, a sound enlightened the room. The sound was as if hundreds and thousands of pokemon came together and used screech and supersonic at the same time.

Both May and Brenden looked like they were dead from the loud noise and even fell on the floor for a few seconds before slowly getting back up.

"What the fuck kinda noise was that!?!" Red complained

"-Telling you this thing won't work!" The girl on stage said "-Oh, there we go.."

Half the people in the room were still braindead on the floor after that uproar. 'My ears.. I think they're bleeding'

"What was that!? Some kind of hazing ritual!?" A random male student shouted

"Please, no more!" A female student shouted as well

"I'LL KILL YOU" A fiery red-haired girl exclaimed, looking as if she was actually about to kill the girl on stage.

"Flannery! Not here!" A pink haired girl said, dragging the girl called Flannery away from the stage to avoid a murder case. "You need to lay off the lava cookies girl!"

'Did she just call her fat?' Red thought

"...Try that again" A plain-looking brown haired boy said.

In another part of the room, a girl with blue/green hair wearing pink had a pink-psychic-looking aura around her as her eyes turned pink and she looked at the stage with a threatening gaze.

"Gosh! You'd think she'd warn us or something before hand!" May said, confusing both Red and Brenden

"Uh.. who?" Red asked.

"Yeah, who are we talkin' bout here?" Brenden added

"Oh, come on, Brenden! At least you should know!" May exclaimed "Up by the podium, that's Roxanne, the student council president. She's from Hoenn, like us" She said

"Oh. Yeah, I guess" Brenden said as if he couldn't give two shits about her, which was proven when May asked

"You don't seem particularly interested"

"No way, I'm very interested!" He said sarcastically

"...You're lying" May blankly said.

"What? Does this look like a face that would lie to you?" He asked

"No, it looks like a face that would lie to everyone" 'Sorry for breaking the bro-code there, but I had to take the free-burn opportunity' Red said and thought.

"Whoa, dude!" Brenden looked shocked.

"Damn, Red! Savage! Brenden, you got burned!" She walked up to Red and put up her hand for a high five, which Red granted.

CLAP

"Ah..ha! You're both coordinated already!" Brenden said happily. "Alright, ya got me, let's go grab our seats before Ms. President up there smashes our ears again"

The trio sat in the middle row and paid close attention to Roxanne.

"I am Roxanne, and to start I would like to thank the academy staff here for allowing the council to hold this special event"

"I hope you will all make the most out of this occasion and grant me the opportunity to officially welcome every one of you to this prestigious establishment"

"Everyone... welcome to the Kobukan Academy of Advanced Pokemon Arts and Sciences"

After a very long, boring, but useful speech, Red found out a lot of things: (A/N: This is for u guys and to save me time and filler)

- There's 3 student residential halls

- 1. Relic Hall which is where they are. 2. Pledge Hall, east of Relic. 3. Aura Hall, west of Relic.

- Class scheduling: 6 periods per day. 3 years of school

- First period: Homeroom for two hours, core subjects will be covered by the professors in Homeroom.

- Following Homeroom will be an hour of one pokemon type elective of your choice. First years can only choose 2 out of the 18 types

- Period of Gym and Lunch

- Last class ends at 3pm

- Research or extracurricular activities take place after school and close down at 6pm sharp

- Any pupil seen outside their dorms after 8pm will be severely punished

- There are security cameras on every floor, so even if students try to sneak out, it will be impossible unless you have a note from a member of staff

After the speech, May, Brenden and Red stood at the back of the hall talking.

"I'll tell you what, I'll pick the same electives as you!" Brenden randomly said, talking to Red.

"Uh..." Red stuttered as he wanted to say "That doesn't seem like a good idea". After all, the whole speech was basically about doing and going for your own goals.

"Imagine if you two also get the same homeroom teacher? Then you two'll look like a couple-" May said before Red instantly denied it

"Fuck no, I ain't gay"

"Come on bro, it's not homosexual, it's homiesexual" Brenden said, putting his arm round Red's shoulder.

"Boi you better take your 'homiesexual'-ass arm off me before I snap your arm and send you to Arceus"

Brenden instantly took his arm off and had a sweat drop.

"..Haha! I'm just joking, you should see the look on your face!" Red started laughing while hooking his arm over Brenden's shoulders.

"Phew.. you fuckin' scared me for a second, I really thought you were about to break my arm or somethin'" Brenden said. "Anyway, I haven't decided which two electives to choose, so if we do end up doing the same one's, it'll be just a coincidence"

May then said, "I know one of my choices will be fire, so if you do end up choosing fire, you'll end up seeing at least one familiar face"

Red took his arm off of Brenden, stepped back, and said "I've still gotta think about my electives, but I think I've got one for sure".

"What one?" Brenden asked

"Electric, after all, my partner and best friend is a Pikachu, so it only makes sense to me, and also, it's probably my favourite type in battles and games, and shows"

"Electric huh? I think Leaf chose Electric as one of her electives" May muttered.

"Leaf?" Red questioned

"Her roommate" Brenden said. "She was pretty awesome when you introduced her earlier" He said to May, to which she smiled. "But yeah, she's a first-year like us Red".

After that, Red and Brenden escorted May back to her room since she was going to hang out with Leaf, and then Red and Brenden went to their dorms to decide their electives. However..

'Something's not right.. but what is it?'

"Hey, Red, you alright bro?" Brenden asked with concern.

"I'm.. not sure"

"Oh crap, your head hurt or something? Stomachache? Hold on, I'll grab the berries from my bag" He then went over to his bag.

"Bag.. bag, bag, BAG! My bag! It's gone!" Red noticed what was missing once Brenden reminded him of his bag.

"Huh?" Brenden exclaimed when he heard Red shout

"My bag! It's black and yellow with my name on it and everything! Why isn't it with my other stuff!? Did someone come to our room?" He panicked, he had a lot of stuff in his bag.

"Your bag's missing?! Well, it couldn't have been stolen coz the only people that can get in here is us and the staff, but I don't think-"

"Right! The staff!" Red figured the staff would know where his bag is "Didn't Roxanne say there were security cameras? We could ask to use it to see who stole my bag"

"That's a good idea, let's go!"

They rushed down to the lobby to see that it was in an uproar and all the students were shouting and running.

"What's goin' on here?" Red asked some students crowding someone on the floor. The panicky student on the floor then complained and shouted

"It's like a giant bug! Except, like, it shocked me with some kind of taser! Like, what the hell, man!"

Another girl suggested it might've been a pokemon.

Red and Brenden looked at each other as if they were thinking the same thing. They nodded and ran past students while asking where they last saw the "pokemon" A.K.A his bag.

After ending up where most of the students were running, Red saw his yellow bag darting between people's legs like some kind of small pokemon.

Red shouted, "Hey, stop! That's mine!"

A greedy female student, who knows it's not her bag, said "Hey! I saw it first! It's mine!"

Another rude male student shouted, "Yeah, right! Finder's keepers, idiot!"

"Bitch! I'm saying it's mine! Look at the name dumbass!" Red shouted in anger at the greedy students trying to take HIS bag with HIS stuff.

"Don't worry, Red, I've got it! I've dealt with this kinda thing befo-" Brenden said before the bag jumped at him and he got electrocuted

"aaaarrrrRGBLLRLRLR" He turned into living charcoal.

"Hey, Brenden! Get ahold of yourself!" Brenden fainted onto the floor, still burnt "For fucks sakes.." Red then made a dash for the bag, running between students, and made a dive for it and...

"Huh?" He held the bag and wasn't getting burnt like everybody else, suddenly, his bag zipper opened and a yellow mouse with big red cheeks appeared.

"Pikachu!" Red yelled, happy, and squeezed his Pikachu in a big hug.

"Pika pika!" Pikachu rubbed his cheek against Red and cheered. Brenden then returned to his original, non-burnt self and stood next to Pikachu and Red.

"Seriously, a Pikachu? Of all the pranks you could've pulled..." He said

"No! I left him with my mom and... how did you get here? Did you sneak away into my suitcase?" He asked, but in reality he was obviously happy he had Pikachu with him, he couldn't imagine not having Pikachu with him for 3 whole years. "Didn't I tell you to stay with mom? Does she even know you're here?"

"I don't even know if the school allows us to bring our own pokemon!"

"P-Pika.. Pikachu!"

"..You wanted to see me that badly huh?"

"Pika! Pika!"

And to ruin the moment, a member of the security staff walked up to Red and asked "So, this is what's causing all of the commotion. Young man, is that your pokemon?"

"Young man, allowing your pokemon to freely roam the residence hall is one thing, but endangering the students and faculty in this hall?"

"I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you and your Pikachu to follow me to the office"

Brenden then exclaimed in objection to the security man. "Whoa, wait a sec! What's the big deal? Pikachu was just tryin' to find Red like a normal pokemon would for its trainer! You guys were the one's chasing him and scaring him!"

"Seriously, though, Red just said he didn't know he was here. Shouldn't you guys have figured it out when you checked our luggage and done somethin' about it?"

'True dat' Red thought

"Uhhh... well, that is.." The security staff was speechless for a second before carrying on, "Well, I suppose we can let this one slide... but don't let me catch him scampering around the halls again!" The staff member than walked off.

Brenden, Red, and now Pikachu, all walked back to their dorm room and decided on their electives, but before that, Red got a call from his mother about Pikachu running off for him, and how she couldn't stop him due to how cute he was.

"So, what electives you choosin'?" Red asked Brenden.

"Grass and Ground. How bout you?"

"Electric and..." He looked at his 2nd option and re-checked all the other types to make sure this is the one he wants "Dragon".

"Electric and Dragon huh? I guess we won't be in the same electives, hopefully we get in the same homeroom at least" Brenden said

"Yeah, hopefully. If not, we've still got a lot of times in our dorms, and we can obviously hang out at lunch and message each other in classes, don't forget gym as well" Red said.

"True, oh right, lemme give you May's number real quick, just in case somethin' happens to either of us and one of us aren't there"

Red received May's number, and the two went off to sleep, ready for the first day of school tomorrow.
