Star-crossed

Three days ago, Cadmus and Hershey had met up at Moirai again to prepare.

"You're treating me to lunch? What for?" Hershey asked in surprise and disbelief.

Guilt. Because he's practically using her as an excuse to make a move on Blair at last. And gratitude. Because he's actually going to meet Blair again without looking like a stalker thanks to her.

Cadmus shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "Just felt like it."

"I don't know where this sudden friendliness is coming from." Hershey clapped her hands gleefully as she took her seat. "But well, I'm not complaining."

"I just thought it'd be nice if we're in each other's debt." Cadmus started feeling decidedly worse every second. "I can tell the world that the great Lamprecht family owes me something."

"I'm an Aurelia. Not a Lamprecht. At least get the families right."

"They're cousins, and the Lamprecht's are better known, so it's the same thing."
