Chapter 50

"Ah.. I must be dreaming.. It feels nice.." Chi muttered out as his eyes slowly fluttered open. Feeling the warmth of Tyson's body beneath his own caused his heart to race. He was not sure when Tyson had showed up and began to carry him back to the castle but he did not care in the least. It felt nice to be near him again. He could hear the chirping sounds of a tired little white usher on top of his own head once again sleeping.

"What on earth were you thinking?" Tyson's voice was cold and stern as he asked the question as soon as he realized Chi was awake. If he had not found Chi in time when Zeal told him the man had ran off on his own Chi could have died on his own. He knew that Chi did not know anything about fighting on his own yet. When he taught Chi how to use the sword he only wanted the man to use it in self defense, not run off on his own and get himself hurt. His face darkened as he felt responsible for Chi's condition.

"I just wanted to look around the area.. I meant to be back soon." Chi still felt weak as Tyson carried him on his back. His arms wrapping tightly around Tyson's neck as his face flushed red. Feeling light headed from the loss of blood he looked down to try and get a glimpse of his wound. Tyson had tightly wrapped the wound up with herbs using Chi's purple jacket.

"It's not that bad.. but when we get back you're not leaving my bed for a few days to make sure you don't just make it worse. Knowing you.. you'll probably make it worse by running around." Tyson said when he felt Chi's body shifting about on his back.

"Your bed?" Chi asked as the flush on his face deepened more when he realized what Tyson had said. Every time one of them was tired Tyson always had Chi use his bed but even when Chi was wounded he still wanted him to rest in his bed. Tyson had always told Chi that if he got ill he would not take care of him and yet he was offering up his bed when he was hurt.

"Little rabbit, If there is somewhere you want to go.. next time I'll take you myself." Tyson's head turned away as he spoke. Offering such a thing to another person was something he had never imagined he would do himself. The thought of having someone he'd want to guide around was nothing but a dream he felt he had no right to have. Yet he did not like the idea of Chi wandering off on his own.

Chi felt he had seen a glimpse of a faint blush below the man's eyes after he had said those words to him. Wrapping his arms tighter he leaned his forehead down against the back of Tyson's head. The warmth radiating from the man was enough to calm any worries that he might have had. Something inside him wanted to feel more of Tyson's warmth. Whether it was his body or the tenderness that he showed to only him. He could not help himself from wanting every part of it.

I really do.. Chi tried to shake the realization from his mind. He felt he had to be crazy to think of Tyson in such a manner but he could not help it himself. Accepting the realization of his own feelings he simply kept the words to himself. Knowing Tyson's personality he was not sure how the man would react if he spoke them out loud. He felt it was best to wait until he recovered to bring up the matter.

"Alright.. Next time." Chi responded as he let his mind wander into the warmth of the man. It was inviting to him and made it hard for him to stay awake. Knowing that Tyson was there with him was comforting enough for him to allow his mind to wander in and out.

Tyson could sense that something was off with Chi but he did not dwell on the matter. He could only imagine that it was probably due to the shock of him fighting against the giant black widow on his own for the first time. Having always been around to protect Chi, he could only imagine how confused and scared the man probably felt. Chi had always been innocent like a little rabbit in his eyes so he was not able to realize that Chi was simply enjoying being so close to him.

He could feel the sensation of Chi falling back asleep on his back as he carried him through the trees back towards King Sobek's castle. Their trip was a long one with Chi on his back but they eventually made it back. Chi had woke up off and on along the way but because of his loss of blood and exhaustion from the fight he could not keep himself conscious for long without getting tired once again.

It was obvious to anyone as they entered the castle grounds to not approach Tyson. The look in the man's eyes instantly warded off anyone from coming near him and Chi. They could only look on at the two of them as Tyson carried the man on his own straight for Tyson's bed to relax and redress the wound properly. All the while Chi's consciousness continued to fade in and out so much that he could not put up a struggle against the pain of heaving his own wound cleaned.

"He really is an interesting little rabbit.. some times I wonder just what does the world look like with those blue eyes of yours?" Tyson muttered under his breath as he sat beside Chi once he was done cleaning the man's wound. Carefully pulling the blankets up over him so that Chi would not catch a chill from the cold breeze through the window.

The way you seem to see the light in everything is almost contagious.. did you know? He thought to himself as his hand casually swept the man's sandy color hair back from his face. Leaning over the sleeping Chi quiet and careful not to wake him Tyson's lips placed themselves down gently against Chi's forehead. Pausing for a brief moment before he pulled away to make sure that Chi had not become stirred awake by his motion.

"Sleep well, my little rabbit." Tyson said as he climbed to his feet and left Chi behind in the room to rest. The room became enveloped in nothing but the sounds of Chi and the little fox sleeping where Tyson had tucked him in.
