Inviting Qin Beihou

The next morning, Xu Anyi woke up early although it was the weekend to go out and run with Si Mu on the trail behind his house.

They would frequently run in the morning together when they both had time, and it was almost like a mutual agreement between the both of them as they managed to get up at the same time each day when they went out.

Xu Anyi took a large gulp of water as she reached the dining table, and she took deep breaths as she fanned herself with her hands. They had run for longer than usual today because it was a Saturday, and she was exhausted by now.

Si Mu took a sip of water too and looked at her with one hand on his hips. He looked up at the clock, and then said, "Be careful at the party tonight."

Xu Anyi looked at him and nodded.

Qin Beihou took a sip of his water as his assistant helped wipe the sweat off of his forehead. He turned on his handheld fan and sat down in his chair, which was under the shade.

The weather was slowly beginning to heat up, and it was even worse as he had to wear a very heavy costume.

"Thank you," he heard the familiar high-pitched and sweet voice say, and he opened his eyes to see Xia Yiwei smiling as a group of workers walked by her and wished her happy birthday.

He rolled his eyes and closed them again.

Xia Yiwei looked around, lifting one hand up to block the sun, and her eyes landed on the man sitting on the chair in the shade.

She turned around and handed the flowers in her arms to her assistant, who was standing behind her, "Bring these to the car."

The assistant nodded and turned around, walking away. As she did, another group of workers walked by and one of the male workers waved at Xia Yiwei, "Sister Xia, happy birthday!"

Xia Yiwei smiled sweetly, waving back, "Thank you!"

Then, she turned around and walked over to where Qin Beihou was sitting, standing in front of him.

Qin Beihou realized that someone had arrived from the loud clicking of her heels, but he continued to close his eyes, pretending not to notice.

However, he could not continue to play dead as after a few seconds of silence, she called, "Senior Qin!"

He slowly opened his eyes lazily, yawning as he glanced at him and then looked back down, "What? I don't like it when people disturb my sleep."

Xia Yiwei's smile stiffened slightly and then she smiled, "I'm sorry. I just wanted to ask if you are going to come to my birthday party tonight. It starts at 7."

She paused and when she heard no reply, she added, "It will be on the balcony of the Xin Hotel. I hope you can come."

Qin Beihou suddenly stood up, which startled Xia Yiwei as she took a step back. He opened his eyes and looked coldly at her, saying, "No time."

Then, he turned around and put on his sunglasses as he walked away. His assistant cleared his throat and smiled awkwardly at Xia Yiwei before following Qin Beihou away and out of the filming set.

Xia Yiwei turned her head around, glaring at Qin Beihou as he left, and she slowly clenched her fists together. Luckily, there weren't many people around so she didn't get humiliated in front of everyone.

She had guessed that Qin Beihou wouldn't come, which was also why she chose to ask him privately instead of embarrassing herself in front of other people.

But why was Qin Beihou so against her?! She never understood why. . . Since many years ago, even before the incident, Qin Beihou had always been very cold to her, at most lukewarm. On the other hand, he was like a different person to Xu Anyi!

Xia Yiwei had never been happy about that, because who didn't want to be friends with a superstar? However, no matter how hard she tried, he never seemed to like her.

Her teeth gritted together as she wondered why he was friends with a person like Xu Anyi. Why?!

She was pulled out of her thoughts by the reminder she had set and she looked at her phone to see that there were only three hours left until the party. She had to hurry and get to the hotel to get ready.

She closed her phone and took a deep breath, lifting her head up high as she walked out of the set, waving goodbye to the people who all wished her a happy birthday.

Xu Anyi woke up from her nap and was shocked to see that there were only two hours left until 7 P.M. She remembered the party and jumped out of bed, entering her closet as she began searching for what to wear.

She did not care about Xia Yiwei's birthday or her party, but since she was going to go, she had to arrive with a bang! There would certainly be familiar people there, and this would be the first time she would see many of her old "friends".

She wanted them to see that the past five years did not destroy her or pull her down, but she was doing better than ever!

She pulled out a sparkling golden mermaid dress and hung it at the door, and began looking for other choices. Just as she pulled out another sexy red dress from the corner of her large closet, she suddenly heard a knock at the door.

She hung that dress up too and walked over to the door, pulling it open.

Her smile was overcome by confusion when she saw Si Mu standing at the door, but with another person.
