The Conspiracy

"Laila?" asked I in surprise. "Are you sure that's her name?"

Lena nodded. "Yes! I definitely didn't hear wrong!"

Could it be that William had been in cahoots with Witch Laila? I was so stupid! Why didn't I discover this secret earlier?

"The witch called Laila usually comes here?" asked I.

Leena thought for a moment before saying, "I've seen her come on two full moons in a row, but I didn't see her on the last full moon!"

"So, she usually appears on the full moon?"

"Maybe! It's hard to say!"

I believed I had the information I wanted from Lena. She went to get me a bucket of hot water to bathe in. Just as I was soaking my body in the hot water, I heard a knock on the door.

Lena turned around to open the door. I bent forward to bury my head deep into the hot water. I wanted to make myself more awake. At this moment, a pair of hands gently caressed my naked back.
