When Javier first saw those men, he knew it wasn't just him who went to investigate. He was sure that by the time he let them get him, especially since they did not have a warrant of arrest for him, he knew that they would not take him to the police station. It's good to know that he knows how the law works, especially for those poor people like him. And he was sure that if Amelia continued to be a lawyer, she would want the same, especially since she felt that the law was in her hands.

Javier hurried away from the house ignoring the men who insisted on accompanying him. He found Amelia at her house still preparing food for them, so he was just shaken. It was as if everything was gone from her. Their gazes immediately met each other. Amelia still smiled something that made Javier's head even hotter but he kept his expression blank.
