- Hostage Situation

Following the bang, they crept around the corner to get a better view of what was going on further down the road. The two alien creatures let a low sound escape their mouths, somewhat like an imitation of a laugh by someone who only knew of laughter from a bad explanation. It was strange to hear, and was a rather unnerving noise.

As more of the scene became visible to them, Gus saw that there was a trio of bodies lying on the floor. Blood had splattered on the ground around them, and a large puddle of blood poured out from beneath them and spread out.

There were more people next to them, but thankfully they were alive. Their hands were bound, and they had been forced onto their knees. Their faces were bruised and discoloured, and Gus felt it was a safe assumption that their bodies were just as badly battered, if not worse.
