Death Of A Succubus

The dogs had led Eros and Coral to an undeveloped area of Downtown. The fenced fields were barren and dusty. Occasionally, some weeds sprouted from the ground, attracting all sorts of critters. In the distance, the angel could make out a few house ruins. All in all, he quickly realized the place was deserted and most likely the home turf of the local stray population.

Twisted into one of the mesh fences was a single-person shuttle. A streak of blood ran across the ground from the wreck to a nearby tree stump. Next to the stump lay a woman, head facing the dirt. Her one hand was clutching the tree.

Eros ran over to the person lying there, hoping he was not too late. But alas, he realized, to his horror, that even if an ambulance arrived at that very minute, she was not going to survive. Deep cuts ran across her back, presumably inflicted by a sharp object.

This was not an accident. Somebody murdered her.
