Chapter XIX - Death Penalty
The party made their way after using some Basic Healing Potions and recovered their HP and Marcus regained his stamina.
They cleared the final 5 remaining groups of wolves and Marcus had reached level 10 and his [Boost] leveled up to level 2 increasing his stats by an additional 10%, with this his HP had reached an astronomical 360 HP. This was more than most tanks, but with his defenses, this wasn't a lot against the strong monsters.

For Mawu and Lisa, hitting level 10 slowed down their experience gains allowing Marcus to be halfway through 10, while they were barely into 11. Marcus explained the tactic that they would summon 6 wolves each once under 1,000 HP and he would aggro every wolf and kite them all as Mawu pulled each wolf so they could pick them off faster.
Mawu wanted to protest but as he thought about it Lisa shook her head. Marcus was faster than both of them and with hitting level 10, he was even faster thanks to [Boost].
Marcus checked the timer before he ran in to engage all the wolves, it was gonna be a tight one…

As the 8 wolves charged after Marcus, he felt an arrow fly over his shoulder and Crit one of the minions in their eye one-shotting the wolf. Marcus was shocked, just how much DEX has been pumping?
With this newfound strength, they wouldn't be as stressed for time. Marcus yelled "Lisa pull your own wolf as Mawu takes the rest out!" As he continued dodging and avoiding the barrage of claws and fangs coming his way.
Eventually only one Alpha was on Marcus as they had already cleared out the minions and began reducing the Alpha below 50%. Marcus swiped the wolf as he knocked it below the mark and continued running as it bowled summoning the 6 minions. Lisa grabbed hers and Mawu began unleashing hell on the pups while they chased after the fool who tried to take out their parents much to their own demise.
Mawu grabbed the other Alpha as he and his sister finished off the group and they repeated the exact same system to bring it down to close to 1,000 HP as Marcus charged by unleashing a massive [Rush]. This was getting too easy he thought… Why did he have to run his big mouth he would later look back questioning himself.
Out of position, the Alpha had circled around back to him and unleashed a power bleed slash with it's claws as 4 of the 6 wolf minions also stacked their own bleed effects on Marcus.
He was losing way too much HP way too fast. If he dropped too low he would be unable to outrun all the wolves!
Marcus quickly got up and began fleeing for his life, quite literally! The bleed had worn off after 10 seconds but he was in deep trouble… his HP was sitting in the deep orange at 120/360. He couldn't survive another attack, the bleed would kill him…
Mawu and Lisa noticing his HP started to feel the stress and tried to take down the remaining wolf as quickly as possible. Their attacks were relentless bringing the wolf down to under 100 HP. Lisa began kiting it as Mawu rushed to Marcus' aid.
Marcus was unleashing [Rush] after [Rush] but in a terrible mistake he shouldn't have encountered, he went to release his skill but it didn't activate! He noticed his Stamina was 9 out of the 11 needed to use his skill.
Just before the wolf's claws slashed Marcus, Mawu stabbed it with his Pike and displaced the launched attack barely missing Marcus. This would forever be in Marcus' mind as he slashed the wolf's side and retreated.
Lisa was blocking the Alpha as it got slower and slower and thinking that one engaged by her brother and Marcus was almost dead, dealt the final blow!

The Alpha howled in despair of it's mate being taken as 7 wolves appeared and started charging after Lisa.
Marcus cursed under his breath before screaming at the top of his lungs "LISA!!! Run!!!!!" Mawu began taking the minions out one by one as Marcus kited the Alpha and tried to grab a few of the minions off Lisa.
He had killed two wolves as he unleashed [Rush] tagging a third. Mawu killed two himself but as he launched the final arrow, the Alpha swiped Marcus in his back.
Marcus cursed his luck. "Quick! I am going to die!!! We need to kill it fast!!!"
Everyone converged on the last Wolf, unfortunately Marcus was out of Stamina and couldn't use [Rush] to take it out. Just as they killed the Alpha, the bleed took Marcus' life before he could take a healing potion.

Just as all the notifications rang off one more appeared before Marcus as his body disappeared in a hazy blue flame.

"****!!!!" Marcus yelled as he threw his Visor down on his desk. This is what he wanted to avoid at all costs.
