Chapter 25

Lord Voldemort, 'flight from death', that was the name he had chosen to go by one day when he had discovered the way to eternal life and to overcome death! He decided that his name itself would be a declaration of victory against the so called 'great end'!

Admittedly the way he had learned how his method worked after getting 'killer' had been a rather unpleasant experience. But even that had not been enough to deter him from the feeling of victory as he still lived! Which had been replaced by cold fury towards the Potter matriarch and her daughter, the instruments of his greatest humiliation.

Humiliation that had left him as a mere shade of his former glory, figuratively and literally, and made him need to wander the world in a incorporeal form. He didn't even want to think what he would be doing right now if he hadn't managed to find this useless sack of meat Quirrell, it was bad enough with him in the first place.

He still wished that he had a better suited host though, one that was magically powerful enough to be of use instead of a guy that had been teaching Muggle Studies! If only the moron had studied a more worthwhile subject, he could have stolen the Philosopher's Stone and begin the ritual needed for Voldemort to regain his body.

But no, instead they were forced to suck on Unicorn blood in order to survive because the moron's body couldn't properly hold his shade in. The worthless moron.

Still, he could at least…

"Quite focused, aren't you?" The shade of the Voldemort turned around as he suddenly found himself in a white void, once more in his real form. And in front of him stood a man, almost a head taller than Voldemort with long brown hair and reddish brown eyes looking at him with a smirk. Yet something about the man seemed… familiar, almost like he had seen someone like him before.

"Who are you?" Voldemort hissed out, throwing his earlier thoughts behind his mind as his hand snapped to the side; yet his wand did not come out.

"No need for dramatics." The man said with a chuckle. "Come on, this is probably the first time in over a decade where you have a body; rather than leeching off of others."

"You dare?!" Voldemort snarled, trying to figure out exactly how to kill the man that dared to mock him.

"I do." The man admitted as he clapped his hands and the white void around them was replaced by a black one filled with glittering spots in sight, with them hovering among the lights.

"What else can I do with someone like you? It's pretty much the most worthwhile thing once can do with you." The man said as he hovered a little bit higher.

"Silence! I care not for who you are but I am lord Voldemort! And I will not be made…"

"A small outburst from a small man in a vast universe." The scene around them once more changed, this time to a completely pitch black void with a giant glowing red eye glaring down at him.

"You're so small." And then fangs grew out of the eye and it leaped towards him!

——————————

As I looked down at the writhing form of one Quirrel the Dark Lord Tumor Patient, I couldn't help but snicker at his agony.

Some people might claim that creating a mental monster inside his mind and letting it 'play' with his dark lord tumor, which could lead to anything from severe brain damage to his brain just leaking out of whatever opening it could find, to be a rather cruel and unusual punishment. Luckily I did not care about those people and had decided that the stuttering bitch who brought a homicidal maniac to a place full of children deserved all of this and more.

I wondered how long it would take until he was mentally broken to the very limit, the man's mind defenses were rather weak. It was a shame that my little act wouldn't get rid of Voldemort though. The dark lord existed as a piece of soul and while souls were connected to minds, they could not actually be destroyed by destroying a mind… probably. Even if it could, Voldemort was merely a passenger in Quirrel's head, he might get a bit roughed up but the destruction of Quirrel's mind would not take him with it.

Still at least I could get some amusement out of the way Quirrel writhed with pain as veins bulged on his forehead. I wondered if there were any veins bulging on the tumor's forehead too.

A rather amusing though but…

Were the veins getting darker? No, not just darker, some of them were also turning into an ugly shade of red. Not exactly the kind of signs I had been expecting but I guessed that they were within the realm of possibilities.

Though, why was he still clutching at the Unicorn's corpse? Was he hoping that somehow the blood could save him? It could not, I had checked in the library about unicorns. Their blood somewhat strengthened one's body and kept them alive in cost of living a half life, whatever that was supposed to mean, but he wasn't actually dying. He was just in mental agony that would leave him as a vegetable if kept for too long.

Those were my thoughts as I tried to understand whether there was some sort of meaning to the man's actions before the air around us changed and I realized exactly what the maniac was trying to do and felt dread for the first time in years.

I immediately cancelled my astral projection and opened my eyes in my real body. Then I immediately jumped out of the bed and drew upon the Hyperforce in order to turn myself intangible, a rather nifty trick of strong force manipulation, and flew towards where I had left Quirrel; hoping in vain that I could actually reach there before the moron completed what he was doing.

Yet, as I already said, it was in vain.

Where once the DADA professor and unicorn corpse stood, now there were only two charred remains and a deformed creature with scaly orange skin, arms and shoulder covered in spikes, long tail with blade like end and a insect like head. The feeling it gave off was familiar from the memories of Hyperstorm. That moron Quirrel, or maniac wanna be dark lord…

"A child? I guess you might do well as an appetizer for I, lord Nebiros, before I find myself a bigger meal!"

…they had summoned a fucking demon!
