A Matter Of Life And Death

Julian had, unfortunately, dealt with a lot of women in his time (though they weren't interested in him until he became important in his father's company) but none were quite like Izzy. She was more beautiful, more outspoken, and much more confusing.

The first two times he saw her, she had been wearing jeans and blouses for work with her hair up but since she had today off, she wore a purple sweatshirt with rather brightly patterned leggings and sneakers. Her hair flowed nearly halfway down her back and she wasn't wearing makeup but that didn't detract from her beauty at all.

He was certain that none of the overly made-up women he knew would look so good in such a casual outfit. He had never been affected by their cheap sort of prettiness but he couldn't deny that she was different from them somehow, even if he couldn't put it in words.

For the first time in his life, he cared about a woman's opinion of him. That was unheard of!
