Helen after a while of silence uttered those words as her eyes with sharp intet locked on the Rose who was oblivious to what was happening and was her own happy world.

She just thought that Helen was silent because of the reasonable shock after hearing those words, But she was okay with it. As long as she was persistent enough she might convince her mother to do it.

Maybe it's not possible for her to agree to marry Alex but there is a chance that with her backing she can convince her dear elder sister to let her marry Alex with her.

Even if she could not marry him, She could at least be his mistress of his which for her is quite exciting than to marry him.
