Mrs Ling

Katherine worked a few more hours on her company matters, they were expanding their branches abroad so she was quite busy recently, she had started this company from the ground just a month after escaping from BEPBU and had worked her ass off to get it where it was now. Therine cooperation is now one of the top five biggest companies in the world, in a short period of time Katherine was able to achieve that.

After finishing her company work she went back to her computer and continued her search for the new BEPBU location, she was so engrossed in her work that she didn't realize that she was fifteen minutes late for lunch. *beep Katherine's phone vibrated and she looked at it to see that it was Harris calling her, without wasting any time she answered the call.

"Good Afternoon mistress, we have acquired some new information regarding BEPBU and Emily and I will be there to report to you, we'll reach there in thirty minutes" said Harris respectively.

"Okay" Katherine answered, she was about to put the phone down when she looked at the time and cursed sh*t I'm late for lunch. She the immediately stood up and ran to Xander's room, when she reached the door she composed herself, fixed her hair and then knocked before entering the room.

"You are 16 minutes and 35 seconds late for lunch Mrs Ling!" Katherine heard Xander said in a flat voice as soon as she stepped in the room.

She sauntered towards the table and and sat down opposite him, she looked at the food and was grateful that the food hasn't gone cold, she cleared her throat and at looked at him apologetically saying "I'm sorry Xander I was so focused on my work that I haven't noticed that it was time for lunch, next tim-" Katherine abruptly paused her apology when something clicked in her head, she looked straight into his eyes and asked "wait, did you just call me Mrs Ling?"

"Of course, the lawyer called me an hour ago and confirmed that our marriage has already been registered and now we are legally husband and wife so obviously, you are Mrs Ling now, the lawyer is already on his way to bring our marriage certificates" came the serious reply from Xander.

"legally husband and wife" "you are Mrs Ling now" the words keep replying in Katherine's head like a broken record, she was not expecting to ever get married after what she had been through, Katherine never thought that one day she would find her first love and she never expected him to love her or anything like that but now here she was, sitting across him as his legal wife. If feels too surreal.

"Oh... I uhm.. D-dont know what to s-say" after coming out of her daze Katherine managed to mumble out the words.

Xander bit his bottom lip to hide the smile that was threatening to appear on his face, he found her reaction so adorable that he wanted to kiss her so hard but he composed himself because he didn't want to scare her.

He cleared his throat and said "how about we start with you calling me hubby? Or darling? Or love? It's your pick"

"H-hub- d-darl-" Katherine stuttered because she couldn't utter the endearments, when her eyes met Xander's who was now evilly smiling at her she couldn't help but blush. This brute! He was clearly enjoying it! Katherine thought. "Just eat Xander or the food will get cold" having said that she continued eating pretending not to notice Xander's eyes on her.

As Xander was eating he was occasionally putting food on Katherine's plate which she didn't reject, she ate everything he gave her and she also decided to put something on his plate which made Xander extremely happy, baby steps is better than nothing Indeed.

After peacefully completing their lunch, they went downstairs and five minutes later the lawyer arrived with the documents. "Here are your marriage certificates, congratulations to you Mr and Mrs Ling" the lawyer happily handed the papers to Katherine and Xander, but before they could react they heard something fall with a *Thud at the door and their heads snapped toward it only to find Emily and Harris standing their with their eyes wide and a big folder that happened to fall from Harris's hands when he heard the news.

"Thank you Mr Ning, you may leave now" Xander said and the lawyer immediately stood up and bowed before quickly heading out of the mansion.

"Mistress what's going on here? Who was that man that just left and what was he saying? Who got married??" Asked the baffled Emily

"Uhm.. Emily and Harris, I'd like to introduce Mr Xander Ling to you, my H-husband."

Katherine softly said as she stuttered at the end. She saw Emily's jaw dropped to the floor and when she looked at Harris she noticed that his face could not be painted, he looked extremely angry.

She was about to explain further when she saw Harris rushing towards Xander with killing intent written all over his face and she immediately went and stood in front of Xander to protect him.

"Move out of the way Katherine! What the hell did this bastard do to you? Why are you protecting him?!" Harris yelled at Katherine with clenched fists and reddened face out of anger.

Today he addressed Katherine informally just like he used to before she became his employer, he had been in love with her since the first time he had seen her and after learning about what she had been through he vowed to protect her with his life, he was planning to make his move and confess to her when all of BEPBU has been destroyed and wiped out. He wouldn't accept this bastard to suddenly show up and steal Katherine away from him.

"Relax Harris, he didn't do anything to me. I just -" Katherine didn't get to finish her words when Xander stepped out from behind her and wrapped his arm around her waist protectively and declared "We got married because we love each other and we don't need anyone's approval for that" He then fixed his gaze at the fuming Harris and said "Ah, you must be Katherine's adopted brother Harris lu, nice to meet you. I would have extended my hand for a handshake but my hand is.. Occupied right now."

"Get your filthy hands off of her you bastard" Harris growled and he was about to take Katherine away from Xander's arms when suddenly Xander grabbed his hand with his left hand and twisted it behind his back damn hard before he pushed him to fall on the ground. Harris winced in pain and cursed "fuck!"

Harris stood up and was about to attack Xander when Katherine yelled "Enough, both of you!!"

She wiggled out of Xander's arms which he allowed her and then with evident disappointment on her face she added "What the hell is wrong with the both of you?! Xander you didn't have to hurt him like that, you understand that he's just worried about my safety that's all. And you Harris why the hell are you reacting like this? You never lose your cool easily so why now? I know you are worried about me and I know you love me like a sister but you should know that I'm not a child and respect my decisions, I know what I'm doing so please calm down, Xander is my husband now so if you truly care for him you would respect him."

Emily who was still shocked at the events unfolding before her finally snapped out of her daze and questioned Katherine "But what about the BEPBU? Are you going to abandon our mission now that you are married?"

"No Em, I will never rest until BEPBU has been completely erased from the face of the earth! Xander has promised to help us do that, look I know BEPBU killed your elder sister but you guys should remember that I'm also a victim of their sick experiments and as far as I know, no one has gone through what I have gone through because they never passed the first stage, I wished I had died instead of passing these stages because death was far better than going through those stages of their experiments so believe me when I say this, nobody on the face of the earth wishes for BEPBU to be completely destroyed more than I do, so just trust me." Came the determined answer of Katherine.

"And I will help you achieve that, BEPBU or not, I will burn all your enemies to ashes even if it means I will have to set the entire world on fire I will do it, for you my beloved wife I will do anything to protect you. I will put you first before my life and you have my word on that" Xander said while lovingly looking at Katherine.
