After a few years passed and I reached three years old, the other kids and I were finally allowed to leave our Nursery.
At first, I thought we would leave our Nursery a lot sooner due to the size of the 'cradles,' or I guess I should say pods we sleep in, but it turns out that they could extend and expand with our size, making them more comfortable to lie in with our growth.
Every once in a while, I also found that important-looking Yautja would visit and inspect our growths.
However, I noticed that he paid particular attention to me.
Other than that, they also began teaching the other kids and me how to speak.
Of course, I acted along not to arouse suspicion but did act that I was learning much faster than my peers.
By the next year and I was four years old, I showed that I could understand how to speak most of the Yautja language, and they began teaching me how to write, which I also already knew how to do, but I had to act the part.
I also spent this time bonding with my fellow clanmates, specifically our caretakers and some of the Warriors that pass by.
Unlike my peers, I was not nearly as aggressive or childish, which made my caretakers and the warriors mostly like me.
Of course, all the warriors I tried to befriend either ignored me or straight up did not like me.
Those that I was able to talk to were few.
Either way, I made some progress.
By the time another year passed, and I was five years old, I showed that I fully understood how to read and write the Yautja language and even began asking questions, such as what they have hunted and how long they have lived, as well as some minor questions about our clan.
What fascinated me the most was when I asked about the worlds the hunters visited.
I learned much from them, to be honest, and it helped brighten my opinion of this new life of mine.
In this new life, I will be able to see and explore more than I could have possibly dreamed of in my past life!
As for what lay outside my Nursery, it cannot be said that I was somewhat surprised to find that we resided within a spaceship.
It must have been quite large since several hundred Yautja live on the ship.
There was also another nursery across from ours, and after some counting, I found that there was around 60 youngling Yautja, including myself, of course.
However, I couldn't go far from the Nursery since I couldn't walk around the ship without supervision.
I hope something interesting will happen soon.
--------------
Little did I know, after five years passed, nothing exciting or entertaining happened at all, causing me to feel quite bored, to be honest.
I was ten years old, my peers started growing up, I learned quite a bit, but that's all.
My height has reached around 5 feet in size, and I was already noticeably taller than my peers, and I only continued to grow.
And on the day of my 10th birthday, the important Yautja once again appeared after not seeing him for a little over a year.
To my surprise, the important Yautja had quite a few more scars since I last saw him.
One of the caretakers approached me.
"Eolde, come with me. I want you to meet our Clan Leader, Qiombe," The caretaker told me before leading me to the important Yautja.
Once we reached the Clan Leader, I noticed he examined me thoroughly.
"He should grow to be a fine Hunter," The Clan Leader commented.
"Yes, Clan Leader," the caretaker replied.
"Youngling, you have reached 10 Years of Age, correct?" The Clan Leader asked of me.
"Yes, Clan Leader," I replied as respectfully as possible.
"Respect? Good. Come with me. It's time for you to retrieve your Wristblade," The Clan Leader informed me with a satisfied click of his mandibles.
'Oh? It's already time for me to get my Wristblades?'
You see, the info packets that I got from the gift bag were quite limited in the information given. For example, while I did know Yautja got wristblades in their youth, I did not know the exact age when the Yautja got their first weapons.
I also knew that their training would begin soon after a Yautja would receive their first weapon.
At least something interesting would start happening with my new life.
Following the Clan Leader, he led me to what appeared to be a workshop where a Yautja wearing quite the strange armor awaited.
"Meet Ya-Edt, our clan's tech master," the Clan Leader introduced the Yautja.
"Techmaster?" I asked.
"I make and repair most of the things the clan uses, including your wristblades, here," Ya-Edt informed me before grabbing something on a nearby worktable and tossing it to me.
To my surprise, it was a wristblade.
Sliding it onto my right arm, I looked back to the Clan Leader and the Tech Master, who nodded.
"In a week, I will have his wrist gauntlet ready," The Tech Master informed the Clan Leader.
"Good, come, Eolde."
Following the Clan Leader, I was soon brought to a rather large open room where a Yauja and many younglings waited for us.
"This will be your trainer, Yi-Holmbe. He will train you to become a fine hunter, but be warned, he can and will kill you within moments if he declares you unworthy of his training."
"Yes, Clan Leader," I replied with a nod.
