I Would Do Anything!

The demon king eyed him skeptically. "Why would you bother walking around? You would have to be incredibly stupid not to realize the demon realm is across the sea from the fairy realm."

"I was curious!" Venethan insisted. "I did know it was the demon realm but—"

"Curious or suicidal? Because it seems more like the latter to me."

"Are you truly immortal? I heard the rumors and…well, there is so much that could be done with immortality! I could study magic forever and finally figure out all of its secrets with that kind of power!" 

The demon king blinked at him. Then he began to laugh, long and hard. The other demons in the room glanced around uneasily until he managed to get a hold of himself. 

"It seems this little fairy is telling the truth!" the demon king boomed with another gleeful cackle. "No one but a true magic aficionado would dare speak like this in the demon king's presence. He is as unrestrained as he is desperate for knowledge.
