“I don’t expect this house to still be on the market by the time I return to Charlotte—”
Then it was a good thing Parrish didn’t care much for it.
“—but please contact him if you should find anything you think might interest him.”
Wait, what? Parrish jerked his head up and around. How long was he planning to be gone? “Ransom, I want you to see it with me.”
Ransom scrubbed a hand over his face. “I don’t know how long I’ll have to stay with my mother. She’s not good on her own. It might be a week, maybe two.”
Two weeks? They’d only had two daystogether!
Parrish pulled himself together. Ransom’s family needed him, so he’d have to stay as long as it was necessary.
Parrish turned to the Realtor. “Ms. Sayles, thank you again. We need to return to town. Mr. Burke will have to pack and then get to the airport.”
“Certainly. And again, I’m so sorry, Mr. Burke. I hope—”
“Thank you.”
“Give me your keys, sir. I’ll drive.”
