Chapter 10

“There, that one,” Max pointed to the dancer on stage. “What do you think about him?”

Grant looked at the dancer and watched him for a few minutes. “His timing’s off,” he said and then changed the subject. “Animals, huh? It’s odd that they would operate underground. Sounds a little suspicious to me.”

“Oh? Well, I know absolutely nothing and don’t care to know.”

“It’s pretty complicated from what I’ve heard,” Grant said. “A lot of legal mumbo jumbo goes into it, as well as having them examined by a vet to make sure they’re not carrying a disease of some sort.”

“Really?” Max said, sounding totally uninterested.

Grant knew he wasn’t going to get anything more out of Max, so he said, “Max, where’s your men’s room?”

Max pointed back toward the front of the building. “Go out that door and then to your left.”

“I’ll be right back.”

Max indicated to the dancers. “I think I like number five. What do you think?”
