Ian whispered to Rémy, “He’s a little pompous, isn’t he?”

“You should have seen him before Sean. He’d never been in a Walmart or a JCPenney’s,” Rémy answered wryly. “Sean is slowly working on his attitude and educating him regarding the kind of life humans lead. He’s not as growly.”

“You’re growly,” Ian teased.

“Less growly since I found you.” Rémy pulled Ian in for a kiss. “And I was always less insulated from the human world than Armand despite my wealth. The old Alpha of the Catskill pack didn’t believe in keeping the pack away from the human world after pups could control their shift.”

The ride to the Catskills took three hours with everyone leaving the city for Memorial Day Weekend. Ian was apprehensive. These were the people that Rémy was closest to, his own pack. If Rémy hadn’t been called to council, he would have been Alpha there. Now, Rémy told him an Alpha in training ran the pack beside a seasoned and trusted Beta, but the pack was still Rémy’s.
