Chapter 103: Dinner at the Cui’s

In the kitchen, the topic is different. The food is actually almost ready, it's just that they need to wait for a while more. Some food are already on the table, it was ordered from a restaurant and some are cooked by Grandma Cui.

Since she is in the kitchen now, Grandma Cui ask her helper to send some drinks outside, she can look over the food with Bai Yi Yang.

The two seems to hit it off with cooking, Grandma Cui is a full time housewife, she is retired for more than 10 years now and she have been staying at home learning cooking. Sometimes she will go out to socialise with her old friends too.

"You didn't know but even during this Chinese New year, we only eat at a restaurant because my son and his children is too busy. It has been a long time since I cook this much." Grandma Cui said.

"What a good luck we have today to taste your cooking. Grandma Cui you don't worry, my siblings is a big eater. That two small one are monsters, they can eat as much as me sometimes." Bai Yi Yang said. Grandma Cui laugh.

After that they talked about cooking methods, Bai Yi Yang gave a lot of tips on how to make a food cooks quickly, what to add in marinade to make it more fragrant and so on. Even Grandma Cui kitchen helper also joined the conversation in the end.

Bai Yi Yang take her camera and took a picture if each dishes, she also took a lot of Grandma Cui pictures.

"Grandma, smile.." She said. Grandma Cui smile timidly while she was stirring the pot.

After telling Grandma Cui to make a few more poses and complimenting her, Grandma Cui become embarrassed and threatened to hit her with spoon if she didn't stop. Bai Yi Yang and the kitchen helper laugh at Grandma Cui who is being shy. Bai Yi Yang then quickly run outside to take another set of pictures.

When all the dish is finally done, it was 8.30 pm. Grandpa Cui especially ask the kitchen helper to prepare a portion for the cat also, the kitchen helper was taken aback.

"Yi Yang yatou's pet is not like other pet. Just do it." Grandpa Cui said with a small smile.

They all take a seat in the large dining table with various type of food. They were similar to what Bai Yi Yang had cooked before other than the majestic Peking duck in the middle, of course there is also a bunch of expensive dishes such as shark fin soup and abalone on the table.

Since the children is short, the grown up will help fill in their bowl with food. The Cui couple didn't mind small manner like no talking while having dinner so they will ask the guest if they like the food.

"Taste really delicious!" The small one answers, making smile bloom on Grandma Cui lips.

"Then eat more." She said. Her appetite also increase when she saw them eating in gusto.

Bai Yi Yang also found the dishes delicious, so she also eat a lot. Is it because she wasn't the one who cook this? Don't say Bai Yi Yang, Zhou Zhu Yao who didn't know that a delicious food like this exist was so happy when she tasted the food. Of course Bai Yi Chen still have a big appetite. By the time all of them are full, there is only a bit of everything in the serving plate.

"I should have cook more." Grandma Cui lips cannot stop but curved up this whole time.

"No, no. This is a lot already." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Grandma, your cooking is so good. Your cooking and my jiejie cooking is my favourite now." Bai Yi Fang said, patting her round stomach.

"Sweet mouth.." Grandma Cui softly laugh.

After that, the kitchen helper give each of them digestive tea. She always prepare this for the elderly couple whenever they eat a lot. Of course the Bai siblings honest and ugly reactions to the taste of the tea bring another laughter. Well, which children will like the taste?

After that, they all returned to chat in the living room, Grandma Cui turn on the television to the cartoon channel and let the three kids watch TV. It is at another area, not far from the sofa where the grown up are.

Even TongTong joined Xiao Ling, Xiao Mo and Fang Fang to watch cartoons because conversations between adults is boring for him. Here is more amusing, once in a while, Xiao Mo and Fang Fang will imitate the cartoon and laugh at each other funny faces.

"Fool, do you even understand what the mouse mean?" Bai Yi Ling was feeling fed up with her foolish siblings.

"What does it mean?" Bai Yi Mo ask.

"The mouse said that the cat smells like garbage bin." Bai Yi Ling said. The two kids immediately laugh to the ground holding their stomach while pointing at TongTong.

"Hahaha..'you smells like garbage bin'.." Bai Yi Mo repeat the words with the same intonation and action like the mouse as he said this to TongTong.

TongTong hisses at Bai Yi Mo and Bai Yi Fang who is laughing on the floor. Bai Yi Ling who has been watching TV quietly also laugh after seeing this.

"Jie! TongTong is hissing again.." Bai Yi Fang complaint to her older sister loudly.

"TongTong.." Bai Yi Yang said, telling it to not scare the children. TongTong run to its host and explain.

'Host, they said I smell like garbage bin, I am not...' TongTong makes meowing sound grievingly.

The Cui couple who watch this was so amused. Bai Yi Mo small skit was indeed funny, what more after that TongTong reaction was as if it can really understand. Now, Bai Yi Fang complaint about it hissing at them and now the cat also is asking for pity from Bai Yi Yang.

"You two don't do it again.." Bai Yi Yang said to her siblings. Only then TongTong walk triumphantly to watch the cartoon again while flicking it small tail side to side.

"Oh..okay.." The two siblings agree and continue watching the cartoon quietly. Not long after, they started giggling again, however they didn't tease TongTong again after that.

The Bai siblings stays until 10.30 pm. Seeing that the children is already repeatedly yawning, the old couple cannot keep them anymore.

Grandma Cui immediately become busy in the kitchen again. She took a big box and put many good and nutritious cooking ingredients in it. When Bai Yi Yang came in to see her, she is busy arranging two boxes of bird nest.

"What are you doing Grandma Cui..?" Bai Yi Yang sigh.

"Your visit is to abrupt. I don't know what I can give you children, this kitchen doesn't lack good ingredients, since you like cooking, take this." Grandma Cui said.

"I don't need gift, eating here is good enough." Bai Yi Yang said.

"No way, just take it as a bribe. Next time you come to City Nan again, come visit our house. You don't know how happy we old couple to receive all of you here." Grandma Cui hold Bai Yi Yang hand.

"Grandma, me and my siblings is also happy." She said.

"Then, take it." Grandma Cui said.

"Old man, old man. Put this inside their car." Grandma Cui call Old Man Cui. Bai Yi Yang can only laugh. When sending them into the car, the old couple was so reluctant to let them go back.

"We don't have many relatives. If we cannot come here, they the two of you can come to our house." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Yeah, grandma and grandpa, I will bring you around the village and mountain, then we all can sleep in living room together at night." Bai Yi Mo said.

The old Cui couple laugh and nod. Only after that did they feel a bit better. Right, they are idle old people, what can stop them from wandering around the country?

They all said goodbye before leaving the Cui residence. The old couple watch them until their car leave the compound.

"I really like them a lot. How good it would be if they stay nearby.." Grandma Cui said.

"Exactly. Now our house is quiet again." Old man Cui sigh.

"I really don't understand whats going on with their real grandparents head is. The children are smart and sweet..if they were my grandchildren, I would have bring them to leave together. You also heard the reason why they are here today, I feel aggrieved for the children.." Grandma Cui said.

"Exactly..for someone who knows the real story, I really don't understand why certain people can accuse their granddaughter like that..tsk, tsk, tsk.." Old Man Cui said. After that, the Cui couple also enter their house. It was indeed a bit lonely after the children leave.
