Night Saber Wolf

Kristin and I were sitting on the ground, waiting for the female Orc to wake up from her slumber. I wanted to leave her here as I knew the way to the village but she could be in danger because she was still in a state of unconsciousness.

Other monsters might try to eat her by mistaking her dead, even if she became strong and other monsters will fear her as her body became strong but she can not put a fight in her current state. Right now, She was easy prey for others.

That's the reason I decided to stay to guard her body while she was unconscious and unable to protect herself.

I started to look here and there as I was frequently getting attacked by drowsiness, I had used a lot of magic today and expenditures a lot of mana because of this I had taken a huge toll on my body resulting in tiredness and body aching which couldn't be healed by healing magic.

When I was running my eyes around to see if any monster was nearby or not, I looked at the female Orc to see her condition and found deep wounds on her hands, and her few nails were also torn, she got these wounds when she was punching and scratching the ground to control herself.

I gave instructions to Kristin to keep watching the surroundings and tell me if she hear or see anything meanwhile I will heal the female Orc's wounds and couldn't do the other job, she accepted the job and kept watching diligently though she was also very tired.

I started to heal her while she was still unconscious, the brushes on her hands started to disappear and new nails started to grow in place of her torn nails, in the middle of healing I started to feel dizzy and it caused her to not completely heal like David, which might be because I didn't have much mana left in my body.

Only Some light bruises left on her body which will be healed with time by themselves, now we only have to wait for her to wake up. Now I'm really getting very sleepy.

Kristin was dozing when I looked to check on her, she also go through a lot tonight too and as her mind was not as strong as me she fell asleep quite easily, luckily nothing happened and I finished healing the female Orc, now I can focus on guarding everyone without any worry.

But I did not want any monster to come out as my mana almost ran out and I don't think I'm able to fight them with my current state that's why I was hoping that no monster shows up until the female Orc doesn't regain consciousness or somehow I recover my mana.

It was very quiet as I could hear the sleeping sound of the female Orc and Kristin, I was sitting beside Kristin while the Orc was lying in front of us. Kristin was shivering as the wind tonight was especially felt cold and seeing the female Orc lying on the cold ground while half-naked I also started to felt cold.

I cuddled Kristin to get warm, Feeling warm she also hugged me tightly in her sleep, I can't afford to sleep right now or we all might get in danger, even after feeling drowsiness I kept my eyes and ears open.

I could consider myself as unlucky as nothing fortunate ever happened to me in my past life and it seemed my luck did not change in this world too, I was praying that we don't meet other monsters at this moment but that my hope crushed when I hear a sound of the bushes rubbing with something.

The sounds were not produced by winds, it was as of something or someone was walking in the bushes. The sounds started to get louder and closer to us, I began to hear footsteps as the thing started to get close.

Those footsteps did not belong to humans or any other big monster but something smaller, I couldn't grasp what it was, if I had even a quarter of my I would have used to sliced the buses to see what it was but unfortunately, now I have less than 10 percent of my mana.

I can only use 2 or 3 wind cutters (wind magic) or fireball(fire magic) and only one fire cutter(wind + fire magic combined) that's why I didn't want to waste them without seeing whether the enemy is strong or not. If it will be stronger than us and hostile too then I will try to use my magic to scare it away.

[Master, two enemies are approaching us.] Aura confirmed their numbers, I asked her if she can tell whether they are hostile or not.

[The state of the enemy cannot be confirmed as you have to touch a subject so I could read its state and emotions.] Aura said, looks like I have to confirm it by myself.

I hastily wake Kristin from her deep slumber." What happened, Yawn" she said while yawning and rubbing her eyes.

We didn't have much time so I explained to her that something was approaching us. When she heard the sounds coming from the bushes, she hastily gets behind me, I would say a very wise decision.

I didn't know if I can kill it or not but one thing was clear that fighting was unavoidable, that's why we patiently waited for that thing to show itself, soon suddenly the atmosphere became quiet, a pair of Wolf-looking monsters came out from the bush.

I said wolf looking as they were not the wolf, they were a little different from a normal wolf, They were quite bigger than a wolf I have seen in my previous life at least twice as big compared to a normal wolf, their fangs were big like a saber tooth tiger which was rather hard to ignore, Their big and sharp nails were buried in the ground, they were able to slash and rip their enemies easily.

I asked Aura what type of monster they were,

[Master they are monsters that don't have any fixed name but from the knowledge I gained, I believe most of the people called them bloody wolves as they have red ruby-like eyes.] Aura replied.

But I didn't care what others call them, I will call them night saber wolves as I met them at night time and they look like saber wolves.
