As time passes, Leo keeps training and keeps winning fights. Pretty soon he becomes one of the top contenders for the world heavyweight title. This frustrates Isaiah Cross as he watches an ESPN news report with Sunny that just glosses over him being the undefeated world champion and goes on to talk about Leo Saint.
"Not only is Saint making his way up the ranks of the heavyweight division after five years out of the ring, earning the name "The Comeback Kid." But he is also allowing kids from his neighborhood to sit in on his training sessions. What a guy." The reporter says.
Isaiah turns off the TV and throws the remote across the room.
"This is bullshit, Morgan! I should be the only thing these people talk about, not this ex con!" Isaiah yells.
Sunny tries to calm down his fighter.
"Relax, Isaiah. Saint is nothing more, than a flash in the pan. Give it time and the hype will blow over. I'll make sure off it."
Isaiah stares at Sunny for a moment.
"You better."
The large fighter then puts on his sun glasses and leaves as Sunny makes a call.
When Cross gets outside, he is surrounded by paparazzi. He tries to avoid them but fails as the cameras start rolling.
"Isaiah, what do you think about Leo Saint as a challenger?" One of the reporters asks.
When he hears this, Cross angerly takes off his sunglasses and stares at the reporter.
"I think you're an idiot for asking me that question. Are you paid to do this? Is this your first time? Challenger, please. I think it'll be a challenge not to kill Leo Saint. Guy is a washed up, overhyped, ex convict who's trying to recapture his former mediocre glory. What a joke. We're done here."
Isaiah puts back on his sunglasses and walks away from the paparazzi.
Meanwhile, As Leo is doing sit ups with Frank, Danielle approaches them with a smile.
"Sunny has agreed to a fight between you and Erick Gomez. If we beat Gomez, we'll be in the top three." She says.
Frank stands up to his feet.
"What's the catch?" Frank asks.
"He says there aren't any." Danielle answers.
"There's always a catch with your father. No offense." Leo says, kipping up to his feet.
Danielle thinks for a moment.
"Gomez is pretty good. He's undefeated with almost as many wins as Cross." She says.
"That's his condition. He thinks Leo is gonna lose." Frank says.
"Well that's not gonna happen." Leo says.
"Damn right it's not." Danielle adds.
"Let's get to work then." Frank says, firing up Leo.
Later that night, as Leo punches and kicks the heavy bag at the gym, he hears someone walk through the door.
"Sorry, we're closed, comeback tomorrow." Leo says.
"I'll only be here for a minute." A voice says.
Leo turns around and sees Isaiah Cross with an arrogant smile on his face. Leo looks at him for a moment, thinking to himself that even though he's a heavyweight now, Cross still towers over him.
"Like I said. Comeback tomorrow." Leo tells him, continuing to strike the heavy bag.
Isaiah chuckles and slowly approaches Leo.
"You know, there's a lot of buzz around you. Leo Saint, the comeback kid. The greatest return to the ring in our generation. Inspiring stuff, really."
Leo ignores Cross and continues to hit the heavy bag.
"Of course, we both know it's all bullshit. So what you beat a few no bodies, so what you train infront of a couple of snot nosed brats. Doesn't matter. The only thing that I care about are what happened these past five years, and for those five years, I've become the most dominant champion in the world."
Leo starts to get annoyed but still keeps hitting the heavy bag, ignoring Cross.
"And you, well. You've been rotting away in prison. Cleaning toilets and eating slop, all because you were too stupid to play ball with Sunny. Now, your just like your father. Just some washed up loser who will never be champion."
An angry Leo turns around and gets into the face of Cross.
"If I'm a washed up loser. What will that make you when kick your head off your fucking shoulders."
This angers Isaiah and the two have an intense stare down. Soon Cross regains his composure and backs away from Leo.
"I hear you fight Gomez next. Good luck."
As Cross leaves, Leo hits a tornado kick on the heavy bag out of anger, wishing it was Isaiah.
