First Shop

Lively background music echoed in the thoughts of Brian, yet he felt nervous. Seven colors of the rainbow, seven establishments. Brian has cold sweat pouring on his back when he looked at the finger of the wheel.

Brian made sure he spun it as hard as he can. The game wheel only started to slow down when about seven seconds passed. During this time, he should already be able to make a guess where the finger is going to land. But like the sick person his System is, every section on the wheel became black.

"Hey! Why did you cover it?! Are you trying to cheat?"

<System: This Amazing System does not cheat so User's worry is useless. For what happened in the spinning wheel, it won't be fun if the User already knows the result before it even ended>

Brian thought about it and what his System said makes sense. The adrenaline when all stakes depend on the last card is always something worth remembering. This fact however made Brian more nervous than he was excited.

Something in his mind cannot help but tell that maybe his luck or the System will be playing tricks on him and put the wheel on the section where Gambling Den is written.

<System: Ding! Ding! Please pull the sticker off to know the result>

"Father, why are you sweating so much?"

"I'm just tired from work… Come hug father to give him luck."

"Don't wanna. Father is sticky to hug."

His daughter's rejection dealt the last damage of his uneasiness. While Paia was looking at him strangely, he has no choice but pull something from the empty air.

Brian did not dare to open his eyes before taking off everything. Pulling off the sticker cleanly was a satisfying feeling even if he was not looking. He really does not want to see the tint of color in the section he pulled at. But the System has other plans in its mind. It did not care whether Brian has the plan to look at the results. Instead, there was an announcement in his head.

<Congratulation! User has earned the staple of any fantasy world, Blacksmith… Please find a location to put it>

Brian jumped in shock when suddenly all he can see was red. He thought something finally went wrong and he was being called to his next life. Only when he calmed himself down did he understand what was happening to him.

He wanted to curse the system for showing him the results unannounced but in the end, he sighed in relief after knowing it did not land in the Gambling den. Brian was satisfied with any choices except that one.

Back to his predicament... Looking closely, the redness from his vision was somewhat see-through. Brian can still see Paia despite his eyes applying a red filter. He stared at something at a considerable distance and Brian understood what he was seeing.

'It's like those sandbox games where you need an open space to place an object. The obvious place where I can put the Blacksmith should be where we are standing at. But because me and Paia are in the way, it still won't turn green.'

Having the explanation, he walked with his daughter out to the road. His conclusion was right and the gigantic box of red turned to green when he stared at the open land he owns.

The blacksmith was not as big as the space he bought so Brian decided to settle it in the middle. In that way, there would be enough room for extraneous things to be placed around the shop. He expects the free room would be useful for decoration he might put later on.

<Do you want to place the Blacksmith here?>

"Yes."

<Construction will be done in 00:03:00>

A timer popped out in the corner of his eye at the same time as a red cloth, the size of the blacksmith, appeared where he was just looking.

"Wa! Look father! A big red dress."

This time, outsiders were able to see what the System was doing. Brian was glad his daughter was still in her age of learning and did not question peculiar phenomenon that came out of the blue. However, Brian was worried about other passersby.

Thankfully, the few passersby who were curious at first just took a single glance and continue on with what they were doing. This was the benefit of the doubt magic brings. In their mind, they were thinking that the human adult should be using magic for something.

Meanwhile, the three minutes timer Brian could only see has not begun counting down yet. The reason because in his imaginary screen, numerous choices about the design the blacksmith would have.

'Oh, there's a lot of choices to pick from. There is even a sci-fi theme blacksmith but that does not fit this world at all… I should go with something not too eye-catching but can make customers want to go in and purchase something.'

The design was separated into two categories. One is for the actual shop where customers would be purchasing while the other is the workshop where the blacksmiths would be working.

First and foremost, Brian decided to have his shop has the fantasy feeling to it but does not have a rough image of what he remembers of blacksmiths. He went for something like a high-end music store type with swords and armor being displayed instead of guitars and drums. Everything was neatly placed and it does not look stuffy at all.

For the workshop, because the System said it will be behind the public's eye, Brian went for what he sees as the most efficient despite its impression not being comparable to the actual shop.

Brian was satisfied with what he chose. The timer has finally begun after he confirms what design his first shop would have. The System should be constructing behind the red cloth now, but there were no noises.

'Will this really be fine? A shop constructed out of nowhere in the middle of the day… I hope the study of magic in this world has advanced too much for them to accept it.'

Paia already lost her interest when nothing exciting was happening for the last minute or so. Brian saw that so they went back to their own home to grab some snacks he bought a while back.

The duration of their quick break was enough for a System announcement to show that the construction was done. Brian can even see some of it from the window facing the blacksmith's direction.

<Please name your shop>

Brian was already expecting this. In fact, he was also trying to think of one. He was never at creating names so this dilemma was biting him. This situation is like when he just purchased a new video game and it begins with the character creation screen. It can take only a minute for some, but Brian was the type to waste at least an hour in it.

"Paia, what's your favorite thing in the world?" Without any ideas, Brian can only ask for backup.

"Father!" Paia said confidently.

"Hm. That's right." Brian smiled in Paia's answer. He fondled her golden hair while she was busy stuffing her cheeks with candies.

'Should I use brand names back on earth? No, I want it to be related to us somehow… Using the first letter of our names, BP. Sounds weird… How about a word that describes our family?'

Brian brainstormed by himself. There were a lot of ideas that came out of his mind but he decided that he would be using a language back on Earth. That means it will be something new for the people of Soliel City.

Using the little Latin language he learned back on Earth, he decided to go with 'Nova Initia' which should mean New Beginnings, or how he remembers it.

Outsiders might not know what it means until he told them so, but he was pleased that it is a name that came from their humble life.

You can also shorten it to Nova and that would be easier for customers to remember. So with that being said, he typed in the name he would be carrying a lot in the future.

'Ting!' The notification sound that his blacksmith is finally complete rang inside his head.

Brian did not let his excitement take over him. He waited for his daughter to finish her snacks before carrying her into his arms after making sure he was not sweaty anymore. Brian was not going to go outside without sharing the happiness of opening the first shop with Paia.
