The Dark Side of the Moon

Ning stood up from his seat as everyone began walking away from their own seats as well. He was surprisingly free to go from the place as long as he didn't leave the city itself.

As he walked away, Redaime quickly walked up to him and patted him on the back. "Good work," she said softly.

"Thanks," Ning said. "Were you caught off guard by this as well?"

"A little," she said. "I was the one who got to question the criminals, and I had to pass along the information to the Major General."

Ning sighed. "Does he hate me or something? Why was he so aggressive? It was like he wanted me to be a criminal."

Redaime smiled slightly, an almost sad smile. "It's the exact opposite actually," she said.

Ning stopped and looked at her with narrowed eyes. He did not believe that at all. There was no chance that the man who had screamed at him so much didn't wish for him to be a criminal.
