"Start!"
The referee called out and scurried to the side.
Instantly, multi-colored streams of light erupted from the five supporters that covered Lin Min in a dazzling glow and only two streams were separated and directed to the defense-type spirit master whose sixth and fourth spirit ring activated. Instantly, a giant cube of earthen glow covered him and the five supporters and smaller cylinders, equally translucent, encased him and the five supporters.
Lin Min's pink hair began to wave around wildly as her striking gaze suddenly fell dull.
Xie Xan's sixth and fifth spirit ring gave a deep glow. As if conforming to the darkness of his spirit rings, when six additional moon blades formed around Xie Xan using his Eight Crescents, his sixth spirit ring instantly unleashed pitch-black spirit energy soaked in the Yin attribute.
Xie Xan's sixth spirit ability formed from the 40000-year-old Ravaging Blind Raven— Ravage Raven Transformation. The purely yin laced spirit energy formed a pitch-black mask in the shape of Raven's head around Xie Xan and he instantly activated his Asura Sight Technique and the Blind World— the external eyeball spirit 'bone' from the spirit beast.
The excessive Yin energy instantly covered all eight of Xie Xan's moon blades, turning them from crimson to pitch-black while also forming a dark cloak over him.
"I have five minutes while going all out. After this, the woman will constantly leak spirit energy and any wounds on her body won't close for 10 minutes, but attack while considering that wounds may close after six minutes," Xie Xan's compressed voice notified everyone. This form of his did not increase his strength but gave him abilities. If he attacks a tool spirit master's Martial Soul, in this case, the sword, then every attack will inflict yin-attributed wounds that will constantly draw out the user's spirit energy. If his attacks cause a flesh wound, then the wounds will remain open for 10 minutes. Of course, the effects increase with Xie Xan's strength and decrease with a greater difference in the opponent's strength.
Right now, Xie Xan's world was entirely black. The only thing he saw were white and red lines. They formed everything around him.
"Why the fuck are you looking all crystal?" Xie Xan instantly glared at Ja Sun whose eyelids twitched.
"Just focus on the sword girl, you unholy crow," Ja Sun scoffed but was inwardly alarmed. Even Ah Yin was unable to notice the change.
"Tch, it's a raven," Xie Xan stepped forward and his six floating blades shot out, rotating wildly while his third spirit ring glowed.
Strike hurricane!
Xie Xan's dash left a pitch-black trail and seeing this, Lin Min snorted.
"You alone aren't enough!"
"Keep saying this and you'll lose the man you have," Xie Xan's voice was hoarse in this form but Ja Sun instantly chuckled. He and Liu Erlong were following Xie Xan.
"Impudent!" Lin Min blushed and her fourth spirit ring gave off a bright light.
Her sword grew in size and she slashed, revealing a bright purple sword light that tore in Xie Xan's direction.
"Pfft," Xie Xan laughed, dodging the strike without any problem as Ja Sun's eyelids twitched. Even after making breakthroughs and gaining ranks, the use of spirit ability is when he is pushed into a corner. With a tap, Ja Sun's entire being exerted an enormous momentum which he shifted instantly. This move was noticed by the Speed Clan who were offered to win it. Now that they knew such a technique existed, they couldn't help but go green with envy.
"I will aim for the shield," Ah Yin narrowed her eyes and Bibi Dong smiled, "Then I will poison Lin Min."
Ah Yin's first, second, and fifth spirit rings glowed at a moment's notice and her domain stealthily spread out. It would take extremely striking figures or her known individuals to distinguish when her domain is active and when it isn't. Ning Fengzhi's eyelids twitched as he saw all this. He had once asked for the information on Bibi Dong's team from her and he valued Ah Yin greatly. But seeing such striking improvements in a matter of two years at best, he couldn't help but feel a little sour.
Waves of Blue Silver Vines formed from Blue Silver Kings and Emperors shot out and followed Liu Erlong as she jumped, bringing her claws down ferociously while the square shielded space rippled.
On the other hand, Bibi Dong's sixth spirit ring glimmered and she hurriedly sidestepped, letting the purple sword light leave a thin but cold mark on the stage.
Numerous dark-pink, thumb-sized spikes materialized around her as she waved her hands and they flew towards Lin Min. As they did, Ja Sun and Xie Xan both observed two currents of energy drill into them. One of them was the poison that Bibi Dong could secrete from her pours. In reality, not many poisons worked on Ja Sun now but Ah Yin still supported everyone with pure life energy that counteracted the poison.
The Bloody Swan Kiss' effect is extremely overbearing but knowing fully well that it will cause permanent damages in political relations, Bibi Dong only revealed a fraction of the essence of the poison— Excitement.
In the form of anger, madness, lust, Bibi Dong could pump others with this type of poison. Well, poison to others but this became a pheromonal activity of her body.
"Gash Explosion," Lin Min's gaze turned brilliant as she slashed against the six hurricanes, revealing her amazing swordsmanship. Meanwhile, the large gash on the stage twinkled with a crackling sound and the energy within exploded!
Nobody was close to the explosion but this had another effect.
Smokescreen.
Only two individuals could see through it clearly— Ah Yin and Xie Xan.
Even if she knew that Lin Min was going towards Ja Sun, Ah Yin only controlled her vines to coil around the cube shield that covered the six members and clenched her fists tightly.
Her fourth spirit ring brightened at this time, solidifying her vine as they cause sparks to flash out from the clash.
"It's consuming too much!" The man gritted his teeth and Ning Fengzhi's expression was somber. Two more streams of light fell on the man and the shielding cube solidified further.
Meanwhile, Lin Min used unknown methods to navigate through the smokescreen and her sharp sword instantly reached out for Ja Sun's arm. She couldn't kill, but she could incapacitate an opponent.
*Fsssh*
*Fsssh*
"I'm your opponent," A cold cackled made Lin Min frown as four moon blades struck her with a crimson glow over their pitch-black bodies. The force behind the attack had increased, Lin Min noticed.
While she pursued an orthodox swordsmanship, Xie Xan was different. He didn't conform to any method since his ability to control blades granted him too much to go down a single path only. Ja Sun silently looked back before disappearing into the fog meanwhile Xie Xan stepped out.
His eyes which should have been pitch-black after using Blind World revealed Crimson pupils after activation of the Asura Sight.
'She still hasn't noticed... huh. Ordinarily, nobody is pumped with so much spirit energy.'
Lin Min's sword had already clashed with Xie Xan's blades many times. In this smokescreen, to Xie Xan, Lin Min was like a conspicuous beacon. Especially the flow of Spirit Energy was too great after so many supporters' blessings at once.
"On the contrary, you aren't," Lin Min replied coldly. Her third spirit ring and fourth spirit ring flashing at once and nine distinct glowing blades appeared around her. The tips of these blades pointed at Xie Xan as he leisurely stepped out. Two moon blades in his hand and with crimson moon and heavy strike, his personal strength was raised by 150%!
His first spirit ring brightened and as the nine blades alongside Lin Min slashed out, Xie Xan, too, slashed out moon slices from every blade. The light of their swords and blades fell into one point in front of them and Lin Min naturally prevailed but instead of stopping, Xie Xan's third spirit ring glowed. All six of his floating moon blades rotated and shot out while Xie Xan himself began to rotate like a top as he pursued towards Lin Min's direction.
"Hmph," She snorted coldly. Waving her sword.
But soon her expression changed.
Two of the blades suddenly let out moon slices again!
Hurriedly parrying the two slices, she found Xie Xan already disappeared into the smoke and only the sound of his spinning remained. But what shocked her was the fact that three blades began to glow crimson again and rotated in a twister, shooting towards her. Meanwhile, the remaining three also turned crimson but let out moon slices instead.
Unlike the weaker version, enhanced by Crimson Moon skill, the Moon Slices were noticeably more threatening.
Lin Min's expression turned for the worse.
'He can add different skills to different blades.' She realized in amazement and shot back towards her team.
'Wait... where am I?'
Lin Min thought and looked around.
"You shouldn't have looked into my eyes," a cold laugh echoed and the world around her began to twist and turn.
This was the effect of using Blind World and the sixth spirit skill together. Any individual who does look into Xie Xan's eyes would be schemed against mentally ranging from more brutal mental strikes to sly illusions. After all, Xie Xan had gotten the spirit ring and the external spirit bone from the same spirit beast, there were bound to be amazing benefits.
Lin Min slapped herself but failed to find a way out of the twisting world.
'Have it your way,' With a sharp glare surrounding her body, Lin Min suddenly disappeared.
*Bang*
An explosive sound echoed and blew off the dust.
Xie Xan had already moved out of his Ravage Raven Transformation and his eyes only constrained crimson of the Asura Sight Technique. But he was being filled with spirit energy as from his feet. Since Ah Yin cannot go overboard and expose her domain, the recovery of spirit energy was very slow and thus, Xie Xan had to stop his skills. But even when he couldn't deal a fleshy wound, he had struck Lin Min's sword many times.
Bibi Dong and Ja Sun stood by his side and Ah Yin was in front of them. Liu Erlong continuously smashed her fists against the cube but the physical strength granted in this state still couldn't overwhelm the sixth skill of a purely defense-type Spirit Master.
"Don't let them support her any longer. Change of plans. Deal with her before taking care of them," Bibi Dong narrowed her eyes. In the center of the stage was a beautiful purple sword stabbed in. Tremendous fluctuations of the spirit energy made others' expressions change and Ning Fengzhi couldn't help but frown.
This was never part of the plan.
But isolated from the outside world, he failed to comprehend the fact that Lin Min would grow increasingly aggressive as time passes. This will make her open to more mistakes.
"Sword and Man as One," Lin Min's cold snort echoed from the sword.
It suddenly floated up without any wielder and from the viewer's seat, even Chen Xin sighed softly. He could see many things, and he could also feel the change of air. But this isn't something he could have expected of his disciple at the moment.
"She's a sword... how do we even throw her out of the stage?" Xie Xan had only just inquired when Ja Sun shot out.
His speed pushed to his very limit.
"Restrict her for a few seconds," He added as Ah Yin and Bibi Dong glanced at each other.
From her hands, Bibi Dong shot out two strings of miasma-covered webs and Ah Yin calmly waved her hands, controlling the vines as if tidal waves that spiraled around the webs, targeting the sword.
In response, the sword waved by itself, letting out sharp sword lights that... failed to slice off the vines.
Ah Yin had activated every single spirit ring except for her sixth and third one. The barely sliced-off vines reattached without losing their momentum and the corrosive webs made Lin Min grunt in annoyance.
The vines pulled the sword down and it instantly ignited everyone's curiosity. What is Ja Sun going to do?
Ja Sun's silver arm stretched out and instantly caught the handle of the sword before pulling it out.
"You fool!" Lin Min shouted coldly, instantly, many sword waves attacked Ja Sun. What should have been deep gashes were merely deeper scratches.
"Don't call me names, you stupid cunt," Ja Sun scoffed as he rushed towards the cube.
"And if you're going to turn into a sword, of course, I'm gonna want to wave you!"
"Prepare to hammer!" Ja Sun glanced at Liu Erlong's whose expression brightened.
"Then lose your hand!" Lin Min screamed and from the handle, an extremely sharp force traveled up his arms but it didn't achieve the desired response. Even in her almost muddled state, Lin Min realized the reason why— Spirit Bone!
Meanwhile, the defense spirit master shouted, "All the support on me!"
His body was instantly covered in various lights as the cube grew larger and sturdier. But with a grin, Ja Sun stabbed the sword into the cube. His left arm was already bloodied but it didn't lose any strength.
Meanwhile, Liu Erlong activated her left arm bone and used her first spirit ring before smashing her left fist against the top of the hilt.
*Crack*
The sword was instantly stabbed in and Ja Sun spoke loudly, "Go ahead, turn into a human. Well, tell me what part becomes the hilt?" While saying this, Ja Sun glanced at Liu Erlong, "Light her up."
"We admit defeat!" Ning Fengzhi hurriedly called out and Liu Erlong snorted in dissatisfaction, her palms glowing with ultimate fire only a few inches away.
"No, we don't! I'll defeat all of you! My sword will ruin the earth and leave the heavens crying!"
Lin Min screamed but she couldn't turn into a human while being stuck with the earthen shield.
Already victorious, Ja Sun merely glanced at the sword before shrugging.
It wasn't like this woman was his fiancee so he felt no responsibility towards her.
As the group gathered up, everyone looked at Bibi Dong. It was mostly because of her poison that Lin Min could fall into such a state but...
"We just turned the cold and rational Nine Light Lin Min into a sword lunatic. Many will have noticed our ploy by now," Bibi Dong sighed deeply.
"But it was fun," Ja Sun smiled. Everybody looked at his bloodied silver arm and rolled their eyes.
"Spirit Academy is the winner!"
The referee announced and Chen Xin had to step up to control his disciple. He glanced at Ja Sun apprehensively. After all, nobody would come up with such a self-inflicting idea on a whim. There was something disturbingly wrong with the man but seeing him laugh without a care, Chen Xin swallowed the words he had and left.
Even though the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan would lose a few spirit bones, it could be said that in the entire continent, only this clan and the Spirit Hall wouldn't have their foundation affected by such a loss. Even the White Tiger Imperial Clan is still feeling the pain from the loss of many spirit bones to Ja Sun.
'But seriously, what part of her body turns into a hilt,' Ja Sun glanced towards the shortening back of Chen Xin and inquired curiously once again.
"Well, two more interesting teams left," Ja Sun smiled.
Now, it didn't matter to him if others made bet with their team or not. He had obtained the herb he needed and five more spirit bones of outstanding quality. The rest can be gained from his trait.
---
"Brother Ka-ul, the Speed Clan wanted to know if you're open to trading for your movement technique..."
"Nope!"
"K-a-u-l! Say, you've got a few more spirit bones, right?"
"Buzz off, Lana!"
"I can sniff the wealth on you!"
"You're... just weird, Jun'er."
"Come on, don't disturb him too much. He needs to sort out his wealth and the things he cannot use will-"
"Never be given out as simply as you're all thinking!" Ja Sun scoffed and crossed his arm.
Thinking again, he looked at Ah Yin's whose gaze never left him.
"Well... I didn't get any plant-type spirit bone... but there is something of value for you. Hehe, I'm sure we can think of something."
Then as if recalling something of great matter, Ja Sun suddenly looked at Bibi Dong, making her nervous with his unbridled gaze.
"What?"
"Ehm... I got somethings to trade," Ja Sun spoke with a straight expression.
"That's unfair!" Hu Lana instantly hissed.
"Oh, shut it," Ja Sun glared at the woman.
It was simply the case of the rich being richer.
"All jokes aside... there isn't a single spirit bone useful to your attributes. Either way... there's no need to be impatient, right? Once you're all Titled Douluos, you can get as many spirit bones as you want," Ja Sun shrugged.
To him, the value of Spirit Bone didn't lie exactly on their skills but the ability to trade for other spirit bones. After all, in Douluo Continent, a Spirit Bone is hardly exchanged for gold. So Ja Sun liked to keep spirit bones for trading chips.
Of course, he also lied about not having spirit bones of value to his team. He simply didn't want to part with any spirit bone until all his slots are filled and permanently reduces the value of the spirit bone for him.
Right now, Ja Sun had a total of 14 Spirit Bones!
None of them were lower than the purple grade, too!
This wealth... Ja Sun was sure that even Qian Xunji and Redstar wouldn't hold many qualms in attacking him or forcing out his wealth. So, Ja Sun was already willing to separate from the Spirit Hall at this point.
The only reason Ja Sun joined Spirit Hall was to find an uninterrupted time to grow stronger. He had achieved his goal and the value of the Spirit Hall had fallen for him. But it didn't mean the value of his team had fallen.
Ja Sun has never been known to give up on items of great value and he considered his team at a level even above it for the time being.
'Redstar's story simply gave us a good cause to finally separate from this organization... but, I cannot leave this organization empty-handed, right?'
Ja Sun narrowed his eyes.
After recovering from his injuries, Ja Sun had dispersed the previous clone and created a new one, granting it his domain and better physique, too. The Sigh of Immortal had changed hands once again.
As the day came to an end, Ja Sun finally returned to his room only to be followed by Ah Yin. Well, they lived in the same area but only in different bedrooms for cultivating peacefully. However...
Bibi Dong finally came out of her room. Looking out in the corridors and finding nobody, she discreetly walked towards one particular door and knocked softly.
*Click*
Ah Yin opened the door and looked at the blushing Bibi Dong.
"What?" Bibi Dong whispered hastily, "Wasn't I called to discuss a trade?"
"You could calm down a little," Ah Yin shrugged with an impassive expression as she stepped aside. Closing the door, Ah Yin led Bibi Dong into Ja Sun's room. The sight of Ja Sun scribbling something on the large book he regarded as his inheritance calmed her slightly. Finally, Ja Sun closed the book and looked back with a bright expression, "Come, come. Sit."
Ja Sun instantly arranged the chairs and gestured Ah Yin and Bibi Dong to sit.
Once the trio finally settled, Ja Sun offered something to drink but the two women declined.
