Hannah and I set off into the concrete jungle of the city. Prowling through alleys by rooftop, scaling up the walls and keeping out of the vigilant sight of actual city security.
It's hard to keep up with an experienced prowler like herself, but she stops once in a while for my sake, helps me climb up ledges and crouch over them as a look out. A lookout for the actual city security.
The tall, dashing men and women dressed in fine blue and black, sacheled with a baton, a whistle and a torchlight. Nothing at all terrifying like the enforcers that whispered around Xoxia, hand out for bribes, eyes anywhere but on crime. No, these blue and blacks are upstanding with their jobs, relentless in their service and yet...it's barely enough.
The wind is far cooler at night, the sky has very few dots of starlight, but what use are the stars when you have a glowing city? Up on the ledge of a roof, a nice bakery sitting on the other side of the street from out target.
