We Just Shared Saliva.

I found myself staring into familiar green eyes that twinkled in amusement. Aiden stood in my doorway, staring intently at me as he raised the tub of ice cream up for me to see. "I brought ice cream!" He said.

"I heard you the first time." He wore a light blue t-shirt and dark washed-out jeans. His blonde hair was messily sitting on top of his head, and his green eyes sparkling and wide.

"I told you I don't wanna talk to you," I said, trying to close the door. Aiden stuck his foot out in an attempt to block it.

"I said I was sorry." I looked at him with my brows raised. I probably looked like a stray dog with my crazy hair and snot-covered face, but I don't care right now. I only need this guy to leave so I can go back to crying.

"No, you didn't."

"Yes, I did. On Twitter." Is he for real?

"What?" He rolled his eyes, pushing the door wider to get into my room. He sat on my bed as he handed me my phone.

"Check it yourself." Going on Twitter, I looked through the retweets from Ash until I got to a person I didn't recognize who had tweeted at least ten times. I went on his profile and read the first tweet, which was from a couple of minutes ago.

@ScratchyAddy_SSSC, which I'm thinking is Aiden's name, tweeted:

We met in the funniest situation.

@ScratchyAddy_SSSC:

She kind of annoyed me with her stubbornness and amused me with her feistiness.

I rolled my eyes at that and continued.

@ScratchyAddy_SSSC:

I made a mistake.

@ScratchyAddy_SSSC:

I'm sorry.

Aiden's profile picture was a picture of him smirking into the camera, but I could see a sincere apology on his face. He had more than three hundred thousand followers, which explained why he had gotten about a thousand replies asking who the person was.

I looked at him to see him looking at me in anticipation. He raised his right brow when I didn't say anything.

"So?"

"So what?"

"I mean, I apologized."

"I know, but ever heard of talking and apologizing in person?" I said, folding my arms to my chest.

"Yeah, but any time I try talking to you, you're either eating or listening to music."

"Then you can do it now. I'm listening." A cheeky smirk appeared on his lips.

"You won't stop until you get an apology, right?" I bit my lip to prevent myself from laughing. He cleared his throat before turning back to me.

"Hazel, I really am sorry to disrespect you as I did." I laughed out before sitting beside him.

"You're still an asshole."

"You know you love me." He smirked at me, making me laugh. "Plus, Nolan wants to hang out with you. Something about the way your legs look in your cheer uniform."

"That dude is a teasing lemur. Now that I think about it, he reminds me of your brother." I said, collecting the spoon he passed me.

Aiden laughed, the sound a little refreshing to the ears. "Wow, I haven't laughed at something a girl said in a long time. Usually, they flirt with me."

"I don't want to know about girls throwing themselves at you, player," I stated, taking a bite of the ice cream.

"You don't want to know the thing they say about me? About how, if they were a car, they would want me to ride them all day or-" I threw a pillow at him, successfully shutting him up. My phone dinged, making me look down at it.

'Please don't bite my head off.' I raised my brows at Ash's message.

'What did you do?'

'I may have told Aiden what day tomorrow was.'

What? I looked up at Aiden. "Why are you here?"

"I ran into Ash after school today, and he told me everything. I'm here to eat ice cream with you while you cry. Is that not what all girls do in movies?" He asked. I'm going to kill Ash. This time my plate won't miss that freaking face of his.

As much as I want to get mad at Aiden for invading my privacy, I couldn't help but be grateful to him for being here. He grabbed my spoon from me, chugging down my melted ice cream on it.

"Hey," I exclaimed, grabbing my spoon from him. "You have your own spoon, dumbegg. Use it."

I took another bite of the ice cream, savoring the way it numbed my teeth. I know, I'm a weird person. Who eats ice cream? Aiden snickered at me, and I turned to him with a scowl. "What?"

"I used that spoon. Logically, Hazel, we just shared saliva."

I stared at him and the spoon in disgust. Letting out a grunt, I stood up from my bed. "Now, I have to go get a new spoon and brush my teeth."

I walked out of my room for the first time in hours.

"Hey! My breath doesn't smell." He yelled from my room. I laughed under my breath as I skipped down the stairs.

"Yeah. Whatever helps you sleep at night." His breath is fresh and minty but I'm not letting him know that.

I walked into the dining room, trying to get my way in the dark. It's currently 10 pm, and I'm guessing Martha is already in bed. The lights suddenly came on, making me scream in fear.

"Levi, you scared me," I said as I grabbed a spoon.

Levi chuckled. "Sorry, Angel. That wasn't my intention. I thought you would be in your room all night." He said as he spread his arm out for me.

I wrapped my arms around him as he placed a soft kiss on my hair. "I was. Until--"

Aiden rushed down the stairs. "Hazel, are you--" He stopped short after his eyes settled on Levi. Levi turned to me as if asking what is he doing here this late, and I shrugged.

"You're the guy from the hospital, right?" Now, it's the dad talk time. A small part of me wished it was my dad here right at this moment, but I also love Levi as my father. I feel happy and lucky to have him.

Aiden nodded at him. "Hey, I'm Aiden." Judging by his tone, you could tell he was the type to not hide behind a facade when meeting adults. I like that.

Levi grinned, and from the look on his face, I could tell he liked Aiden. "I'm Levi Sharpe, Athena's father. I never actually got to thank you at the hospital for being there for her. Thank you."

Aiden grinned. "She's one hell of a trouble. I'm glad to do that."

"She is, isn't she?"

"Hello! I'm standing right here, you know. Don't talk about me in third person." They both laughed.

"Okay, I'm going to leave you two and head up now." He turned to me, a look of concern on his face. "You'll be okay, Angel?"

"Of course, dad." His eyes went huge, and his lips parted slightly. It is a big step for the both of us, but we only have each other to heal right now. And I do love him like my own father. My dad would want this. I see more of him in Levi every day. I walked closer and wrapped my hands around him.

"I love you, Angel." I heard his voice crack a little.

I smiled. "I love you too, dad." He kissed my hair before pulling away. That's my new favorite thing.

"Are you staying the night, Aiden?" I heard a crack in my neck from how fast my head turned to him. Is he serious right now? Aiden is a boy, and I am a girl. That means something in the real world, yeah?

"Really, can I?" Aiden gushed happily.

"I don't see why not." He shrugged.

My mouth hung open. "What?" I cried. Okay, I said 'what', but I had the right to do that anyway. Maybe it's not as bad as I think it is. "Where will he stay? Mom converted the guest room to her storage room, so that's a no. Plus, Martha uses the other room, and the basement is freezing at night. You know what? Just put him there."

"I was thinking in the lines of maybe your room." He mumbled the rest of the words under his breath.

"What?"

"He's in your room, Athena. If Ashton can stay in your room and not try anything on you, that is because I trust him. And now I trust Aiden." That's because Ash and I can never develop feelings for each other. The guy is my best friend and a brother I never had.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "How do you trust him? You only met him two times before. And don't forget he's the reason mom got mad at me in the first place."

Levi shrugged. "First off, your mom overreacted. Besides, he's a good kid, and I know good kids when I see one."

"But--"

"Please, Angel. I'm tired from the flight. We'll discuss this in the morning." He turned to Aiden, who was staring at us in amusement. Of course, he'll find the situation funny. "Are you staying?"

"As much as I'd love to, I can't. At least not today." Levi nodded while I breathed out in relief. "Can I take her out for the whole day tomorrow?"

Levi turned to him with an I told you so, look. "See? I told you he is a good kid." I rolled my eyes, scoffing under my breath. "Yes, you can take her out. Will she be back home, or she's spending the night at your place?"

What? I'm pretty sure no father is allowed to say that. I'm only freaking seventeen for crying out loud.

"No, we'll be back. But I'll spend the night."

"That's fine by me. See you guys later." I watched him run up the stairs in a daze.

"Wow. I love your dad. He's the coolest ever."

What the hell just happened?
