Everyone in their clan and community knew about Ivan and how he lived in the human world because he was one of them too.
The Carter family, being the head of the clan, attracted many enemies who wanted to clear their families existence but it was never easy as each member of the Carter family were stronger than other bloodlines. But since Ivan was a human, it made him vulnerable and also the most targeted member of the family.
While Ivan stayed with them, it was easy to protect him but once he moved out, things became difficult.
Though their powers were intact in the human world as well, there was a limit to how they could use them as it wasn't their land. Anything too extreme would blow up their cover and attract human attention which they did not want. This is why while protecting Ivan, they had to be very careful which made things a bit difficult.
"I don't want to take any risk which would end up hurting him, I—"
Cutting him off, Rachael scoffed, "Tell me that keeping him safe is the only reason why you want to bring him home. Assure me that there is no other reason that I am not aware of."
Staring at her for a while, Darius pursed his lips and left without saying a word.
"You are not lying to me Darius, you are lying yourself," she yelled before he disappeared from her sight.
Rolling her eyes in the direction where he left, Rachael turned around and walked towards a bush. "Come out before some spider bites your ass."
Just then a pair of bright golden eyes ruffled out of the bush towards her, growled before pouncing towards her direction.
"I am not in the mood for games, what do you want?" she sighed before walking away.
"Did you just try to scare the Alpha with spiders?"
Shrugging her shoulders, she chuckled, "Maybe, maybe not."
Catching up with her, he smiled, "I can still feel the heat of the conversation."
"We have been fighting over this for years now, why isn't he tired of it," she sighed.
"Well, maybe because he has responsibilities." When Rachael raised her brows, he quickly elaborated his uncleat statement. "He is the eldest so all responsibilities fall on his shoulders. He has to do everything he can to keep everything at its right place, he has to make sure nothing goes wrong."
"If you are here to tell me what Darius is trying to say is rational then please leave Adrian, I am seriously not interested."
"Rachael—"
Cutting him off, she snapped, "And I really don't want to deal with two overbearing men one after another."
Raising his brows, Adrian asked, "You think I am overbearing?"
"Of course you are," she scoffed. "You are the Alpha, you're used to people listening and doing what you want them to. But let me tell you one thing—" Taking a step towards him, she pressed her finger on his chest. "That bossiness is not gonna work here."
Grabbing her hand, he smiled, "Well, I am the Alpha but that is only for my pack. When it comes to us, you are my Luna."
"I am not a werewolf or a part of your pack," she stated before slowly pushing him back.
"You know I am dying to make you are part of me, I—"
Cutting him off, Rachael remarked, "We are not having this conversation again Adrian." Without waiting for his reply, she disappeared in the woods.
