Chapter 90 Arson

Illya- "Onii-chan!"

Rimuru- "Hmm? What's up, Illya?"

It's been a week since I dealt with Phobio and his group. I was wandering around Avalon, thinking it would be a good change of pace when Illya runs up from behind and calls out to me.

I just want to say, however, that I remembered there was I reason I rarely left the house.

I'm antisocial as fuck. Although I'm wearing the identity concealing rune, I still hate crowds.

Regardless, my saving grace (Illya) runs up beside me and hugs my left arm. I just smile warmly and start headpatting her with my right hand. I love headpatting her. Her hair is so silky and soft, plus it's good for my soul.

Illya- "Ehehe… Oh, right! Onii-chan, something came up!"

She begins to melt under my touch, but she shakes off that feeling and tells me why she's here.

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure my headpatting technique has reached God Touch levels.

Rimuru- "Something came up? Is it serious?"

Illya- "N-no, it's…"

Her words drop off and her eyes gain a distant look before she snaps back to reality.

Illya- "It isn't something… serious…"

Her whole body relaxes and her facial expression slackens. She jolts back, vigorously shakes her head, and glares at me with a pout.

Rimuru- "No I will not stop headpatting you."

Illya's expression turns into a defeated one as she knows I won't stop before it turns into a content one.

Do you see what I mean? God Touch. Illya, someone with computational powers several times higher than even Mikoto, can't handle the sheer power of my headpats and is melting under my touch.

With this power, I can easily amass an army of lolis to conquer the world. I would be unstoppable. I mean, you can't hurt lolis. That's just the law.

Regardless, Illya gives up on telling me what's going on normally and just hands the information to me with the headpat information transfer technique we use.

I get the gist of the situation now. Basically, Illya sensed a couple of groups of humans approaching Avalon. Specifically, it's the prelude to the next event.

One of the groups is the Three Stooges- *Couch* I mean, the Three Adventurers, Kabal, Elen and Gido. They visited Avalon a long time ago with Human Shizu just before she died. This time they're accompanied by their Guild Master, Fuze.

I actually forgot his name and I only remembered it from Illya's information.

The second group belongs to Yohm. They're a ragtag group of small-time criminals assembled to deal with monster problems that the country couldn't be bothered to deal with.

And by that, I mean ALL the monster problems. They were sent this time to scout out the Orc Lord.

I mean, it's been a while since the Orc Lord's occurrence, so knowledge of its existence has already spread through the human countries. However, knowledge of its defeat is a different matter. According to my memories from canon, only a select few people are aware of the Orc Lord's defeat.

Anyway, they're here so I need to talk with them when they reach Avalon… Can they get here safely?

Oh well. I can just resurrect them if they die lol.

But I feel like I'm forgetting something…

Rimuru- "Hey, I don't see Mikoto or Milim anywhere. Where are they?"

Illya doesn't even bother trying to answer me and just passes the info directly to me while continuing to melt under my hand.

Hmm… I see, so Mikoto is on her occasional wander through the forest while Milim is wandering around the city by herself.

(A/N: Some of you might have forgotten because I only mentioned it once or twice, but Mikoto sometimes strolls through the forest to get some action by killing monsters. I'm gonna be honest, I forgot it too.)

MILIM IS BY HERSELF!?

*BOOM!*

???- "Oh no! Shizu and Milim have teamed up and are committing several acts of arson!"

*Gunshots and screams off in the distance*

… *Sniff*… Just because Milim isn't alone doesn't make things better…

(Third Person POV)

Meanwhile, at the same time in the forest a few kilometres away…

???- "A knight spider!? That's an A-minus Rank monster!"

A mage identifies the monster that just appeared in front of the large group he is a part of. The knight spider looks at them with its many eyes, and charges at them.

It wasn't actually targeting them originally, but a smaller group of 4 people have somehow attracted its aggro since they… well… they are quite prone to danger and shit like this happens all the time, so no one questioned it.

Anyway, the smaller group attracted its aggro and since they couldn't deal with it by themselves, they ran away… straight into the larger group. Seeing this as a chance, the smaller group joined up with the larger group, and…

Well, to put it simply, they're all gonna die.

I'm sure you already realised by now, but the smaller group is Elen, Kabal, Gido and their Guild Master Fuze. The larger group is the band of small-time criminals led by Yohm.

Unfortunately, even with the power of friendship, the knight spider is an A-minus ranked monster. There's no hope.

But suddenly, a wild Pikachu appears!

Mikoto- "Oh, Elen, Kabal, Gido! I didn't expect to see you here!"

Mikoto, who was wandering around the forest throwing one Thunderbolt attack after the other at random monsters, meets with both groups.

And thus, the ragtag group of unfortunate humans lived to see another day.

As for Gobuta, who originally saved the group in canon…

Gobuta- "*Sniff* Why am I the only one being chased around by that cat from hell…"

Unfortunately, he was the main target of an arsonist cat and an arsonist Demon Lord. Gobuta laments his misfortune as he puts out the remaining flame on his body.

As for what he did to become Shizu and Milim's target… No one knows. Probably something dumb, it's Gobuta after all.
