Not all heros needs a cape

Staring into the warm brown eyes of the man crouching in front of her, fear had overwhelmed her. He looked rich, and she didn't like rich people. All of her bullies were the girls that came from the wealthy families. She learned that rich people.

Despite the fact that she wanted to run from him, she couldn't. The small how of sleeping in the snow has caused her to fall ill.

His warm thumb carefully creased her cheek, which made her flinch.

"What is a beauty like you doing out here in the cold, all alone?" His sudden question startled her, his voice was soft and caring. And did he just call her a beauty?

She was not a beauty; she was an enormous mess. Surely he was thinking about someone else. He probably mistaken her for someone else.

"Are you going to answer me? Or can you not talk?" He questioned her.

In her current state, these questions made her feel overwhelmed. She pulled the blanket around her so it would tighten.

Her eyelids grew heavy. Trying to fight them to stay open, she fell back unconscious and was back in the black void that she just woke up from.

The man watched her carefully. He stood up and walked out of the small area.

Once he made it back onto the open streets, he looked towards his bodyguard who was standing like a statute beside a black ford.

"There is a young girl back there." He announced, "go get her and her belongings, she will die sleeping in the snow. She will sleep in the guest room." He instructed before getting into the back seat of the car. The windows were tinted, so it was hard to see him, yet he had the perfect view of everyone walking by his vehicle.

Relaxing into the luxurious beige seats of his car, he rested his head on his headrest while he waited for his guard to bring the young Ivy.

He didn't know what drew him into the alley to begin with. Maybe it was the faint sound of her harsh breathing he heard? But the first time seeing the girl, he saw the beauty in her and he had the sudden need to protect her and save her.

"I wonder why Sir Allenson will allow such a filth like her in her, it is clear that she has no money. Or why will she be sleeping on a bed of snow?"

"I know, and we are stuck in here to make sure that she is cleaned and dressed before she goes to see Sir Allenson."

"We did not sign a contract to deal with street trash. Who does he think he is? Making us deal with this mess."

"She probably doesn't even know how to act proper. I don't know what Sir Allenson sees in this lady, but the one thing I know is I see nothing but garbage when I look at her."

It was hard for Ivy to sleep with the two chattering females in the room. She let out an annoyed groan before her green eyes opened and she sat up looking around and she spotted the two females that were chattering nonstop. It was two maids.

Her eyebrows knitted together in confusion as she looked at the two maids. Continuing looking around, she got even more confused.

She is in a lavish room. White and gold covered the room. Noticing two glass doors leading out to a balcony, she used the little strength she had left, ignoring the maids who were just talking trash about hand and now telling her that she should sit back down. She stood up and wobbled towards the doors, using anything in her reach as leverage to hold her up.

The way the sun hit on the fresh snow made it look like someone dumped a bottle of glitter on the snow. It sparked like a disco ball at a party or a sequin dress, sparkling under the light of the sun. A small smile forced its way onto her face.

Sadly, the moment didn't last longer than five minutes before the maids were pulling and leading her back to the bed. Ivy pouted.

Once the young girl was seated on the bed, one maid offered her a sincere smile before speaking, "Milady, are you hungry? Would you like anything to eat?"

Opening her mouth to speak, she winced at the pain in her throat. She must have got a sore throat with her cold.

The maid noticed her face as she went to speak, the maid quickly stopped her, "milady, just nod or shake your head."

Ivy nodded.

The maid nodded in return and left. The other maid was walking out of the closet with a cute loose dress that looked like it would fit her. She didn't like the idea that she needed to help the girl on the bed get ready; she wasn't going to go through the trouble to get the girl ready in proper clothes.

By the time the other maid came back with a warm bowl of stew, Ivy was dressed and the other maid had Ivy sit on the cushioned vanity stool to brush through her knotted hair.

The maid had washed Ivy's hair and is now styling it.

The maid who brought the food placed it down on her nightstand and waited for the other maid to be done. Once she was, the mids left Ivy on the bed to eat in quiet.

Ivy was finished with her food by now and just laying on her bed with nothing to do. She wondered what happened to her and how she got here.

Not that she was worried and scared that she woke up in a stranger's home, it was the fact that this stranger was rich. With their maids and looking at the room, it was clear that this was no middle class man.

Her current room looked like it would be able to fit two and a half of her old apartment.

She sighed. 'What was better? Getting treated like a slave in a house filled with people that were supposed to be her family? Sleeping in the snow and having a possibility of dying? Or getting kidnapped by a stranger, being blind to what he might do to you?' Ivy wondered to herself.

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

There were three timid knocks on the door. Not having a loud voice to tell the person to come in, she stood up and walked to the door.

Opening it, she saw a small girl that looked like around her age in a maid outfit. The girl had beautiful red hair and cute dimples.

Not knowing why, Ivy had always admired people with red hair, she just found them prettier the most.

"Milady," the maid bowed her head, "SIr Allenson had called for you."

Sir Allenson… that was the same person who the maids for this morning were talking about. She furrowed her eyebrows as she tried to think who he is; she heard that last name before… she just doesn't remember where. And then it hit her. Sir Allenson was the one that saved her, her hero.
