Confrontation

'Is he making fun of me? Does he think that my career is a joke? Hmmph!' The lady pondered as her facial expression turned dark. Her fingers slide on the screen of her phone to answer the call.

"Dearest Jing Jing, have you arrive in the public gymnasium? I just came and now I am about to enter inside. Where are you?" Drake casually talked after Jing Jing accepted his call. He eyed the group of audience that was passing through the exit of the building as he was trying to look for his girlfriend.

"Jing Jing? Hello?" Drake spoke again when he failed to hear a response for Jing Jing.

The lady on the other end of the call closed her eyes took a deep breath. She could not find a valid reason why her boyfriend would betray her. They had been together for almost a year. She thought that their connection was special. She even started saving money for her future together with him!

The man was also aware that she loved her career in the press industry, yet he still sabotaged it!

She opened her mouth but came to a realization that her lips had gone dry. She could feel the temper boiling in the temple of her head. Her heartbeat also quickened.

"Drake, I'll meet you at the entrance." Jing Jing finally responded. Her tone had turned colder than the glaciers of the Antarctic region.

"Okay, dear. See you." She heard him responded. Jing Jing gritted her teeth and sauntered towards the entrance door.

Upon seeing the man, Jing Jing quickly pulled Drake on the corner not far from the player's booths. She had chosen the place where there were the least people around.

"Drake, how dare you! How dare you tipped the FDSS Press Company about my scope! They are the rival company! Even if the staff of that company is your friend, I am still your girlfriend!" she icily glared at the man.

Jing Jing felt the scorching fury towards the man that she quickly confronted him. She believed that a direct confrontation was way better than a question-and-answer session.

Drake stared at her for a long time. A tiny smirk appeared on his face after realizing that Jing Jing was able to figure out his deceit. He brushed his hair and crossed his arms on his chest.

The man stood straight and spoke, "Heh! You are indeed a smart woman! Yes, it was me who tipped the FDSS Press Company. So what?"

Jing Jing's anger boiled at the maximum after hearing her boyfriend's response. Her nails had almost buried on her palms as she clenched her fist tightly.

"Drake, are you a man?! You just pulled me down! What is wrong with you? You don't even recognize your mistake!" Jing Jing's voice turned low and dangerous.

"Hahaha, do you really think that I have fallen in love with you? I am the heir of the FDSS Press Company. Surprise? Hehe, of course, I would prioritize what is beneficial to me! Didn't we agree to priority our career?" Drake chuckled. His face was completely mocking at the lady standing in front of him.

"Heir of the FDSS Press Company?" Jing Jing was momentarily shocked. Then she gathered her voice and continued, "Bah! Get out of my face! We are over! You and me, there is no future between us. You are worst than a dog! I hope karma will slap you hard in the face!" Jing Jing pushed the man and turned her body around. She leaned to the nearest column of the building so she could support herself. Her emotions were threatening to explode anytime soon.

Drake shook his head and walked away as if nothing had happened. There was no remorse nor guilt that he felt. Jing Jing was right, he was worst than a dog. In fact, it would be an insult for a dog to be compared by the character of Drake!

The man swiftly moved his feet and went towards the three staff of the FDSS Press Company and joined them. He even exchanged a hi-five with the other man.

Meanwhile, Jing Jing felt like her legs turned limp. Her mood had turned 180 degrees. But she tried so hard so she could maintain standing on her feet.

"What bad luck! I must calm myself first before I start my coverage." she softly mumbled and slowly walked.

She just dumped a man on Valentine's Day! It was indeed a bad luck! Jing Jing tried to clear her mind by shaking her head several times.

On the player's booth, Sofia caught a familiar figure out of the corner of her eyes. She stared at the figure that was leaning on the pillar of the building.

Recognition flashed in Sofia's eyes and her face turned pale as she stood from her seat.

'Is that... Is that assistant sec--... Miss Jing Jing?' Sofia asked in her mind as she was bewildered of what she just saw.

The woman in her mind was the secretary of the Summers Holdings Incorporated that had witnessed her death. Although the lady that Sofia was staring at looked younger and slimmer, the way this lady stood gave off a sense of familiarity that Sofia could not explain. In her previous life, the two of them had been working together for so long that she had memorized the mannerism of her secretary.

"What's wrong, Sof?" Claire asked after noticing Sofia's unusual reaction.

Sofia did not respond. Her eyes followed the figure as it was walking towards the exit of the building.

"Claire, I'll take care of something. I'll be back, guys." Sofia quickly said and rushed out of their booth.

The four members of the Chronos squad glanced at one another and shared with the same confused look. They had never seen Sofia in such expression before. It was almost like she had lost her composure.

They stared at the retreating back of Sofia as she walked elegantly towards the exit of the building.
