Her Fear

Suffocated, that's how she felt as she looked around her. She was in a snowfield, in the middle of an ice pool. Her body was partially submerged into the water with only her head above the ice.

The coldness that she normally loved, was now the enemy she abhorred. It seeped into her bones, itching itself deeper into her soul. She felt it. Her entire body ached as though she was being repeatedly stabbed by a sharp object.

She wanted to scream, but by heaves, she couldn't find her voice. The light above was growing dimmer by the minute. She couldn't tell the source. With each passing second, her breath became labored.

Tears that had trickled down her face were instantly frozen by the ice. She was simply being tortured without any relief. Maybe, just maybe, if she had her voice, she would scream out loud for help.
