Spies for Hire

Neo looked hard at the card then took another gaze at the crime scene. His boss laying there, frozen inside out. He was determined to find the perpetrator.

"Let's do this. We'll investigate this ourselves. But we must be careful. Agreed?"

Lee and Haala nodded with stoic expressions then Haala turned to leave. Despite the policemen trying to convince them to stick around, the boys made it through the throng of detective and forensic teams that had arrived on site and got to Lee's car. Neo tossed the keys over to Lee.

"You drive better under stress. Let's go."

The car peeled away from the now sombre site that was their workplace. Never had they thought things could go so wrong in a few seconds. 15 long minutes passed until they reached a mansion. It looked very neat and somewhat subtle. Was the answer to their problems really here? And were they prepared to do whatever they could to avenge their boss?

Lee got out of the car and walked towards the gate with a huge sigh. "You sure about this, Neo?"

"Honestly? I've never had more clarity than right now. Weird, right?", Neo chortled nervously. He felt his brother's hand on his shoulder and, even though Lee was a pain in the ass, he was always there for his little brother.

BUZZZZZ!

Somehow the gates spontaneously opened, as if someone was expecting them. There was no other choice but to walk into the yard and knock on the door. Lee stepped up.

"Here goes..."

He rung the doorbell.

"Click!"

Lee was about to spurt off his big mouth until a woman with sapphire blue eyes appeared. In fact, they had the same tint as the assassin's emerald eyes.

"Mr Heartwood, pleasure to meet you again. I see you brought company?", she chimed as she looked towards Neo who could only manage a small wave.

"Wait...Hannah? 'The' Hannah Vogue of that big agency?"

Lee was totally unaware of his expression that could have shattered mirrors.

"Yes it's the same one. Now pick your jaws up off the floor and get inside." She wheeled around and led them into her front room.

Lee took a good look at Hannah. He wasn't sure where else he'd seen her but there was this mysterious vibe about her. Her skin had a somewhat tanned complexion but it looked so....natural. Her red hair was really red and not the normal fiery orange colour of red hair. Her stature seemed almost perfect, her movements were fluid and graceful like a dancer. And those eyes. They were really like sapphires. The deep blue tint was also a loud signal that she was a mutant as well. She seemed so.....perfect.

"Lee? You're gawking again. Jeez man, how long has it been since you've had a one night stand? Your eyes keep falling out of their sockets."

That was enough to bring him back to reality.

"Oh. Sorry. Did you ask something?" was all he managed to blurt out.

Hannah waved it off then pulled up a stylish wooden chair. Much to the boys' surprise, she flipped it around and sat on it backwards, much like how thugs interrogate their prisoners. They were way too surprised or scared to say anything, so she broke the ice.

"So. You're up to your hairlines in horse shit, aren't you? Tell me all about it."

This is Hannah now? Damn who knew. And how can she help these guys? What does she have to offer?
