"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Magnus exclaimed, the absurdity of what Ragnar said was too much.
"I'm not lying, after we were done with our morning activities she headed out to raid another monastery, but this time King Alfred had sent some soldiers, she was stabbed in the chest with a spear and died. As you said, I did not interfere or heal her." Ragnar replied, somewhat saddened, though he seemed relaxed.
"You know, Mag, she was a bit crazy, when we did it last night and this morning, she constantly asked me to choke her tight, slap her, twist her, be as rough as possible, play with her like a toy. I complied as I was in ecstasy at that time, but after doing it I felt some kind of regret, brother. I don't think she was right in the head." Ragnar replied awkwardly.
Magnus and Merlin just blankly stared at him with a judging gaze. Magnus especially because of the way Ragnar had gotten so crazy about her he expected him to cry to bring her along. But, this was good too, "Well, you have my condolences. Anyway, I was about to ask Merlin to help me return home."
Merlin shook his head, "It will take some time, Magnus. Time magic is not that advanced in this era, I will have to learn everything that you already know and then work on it. So you are welcome to stay inside the castle,"
"Cool, I always wanted to experience a mediaeval lifestyle," Ragnar cheered.
Sighing, Merlin led him in and showed them a spare room. At that Magnus remembered, "Oh, I ran out of the prison a while ago, your guards might be getting a little agitated."
"You can do wandless magic?" Merlin muttered, astounded.
Grinning, Magnus showed him a fireball, "Hehe, you trained me and I am the inheritor of you and Arthur after all,"
"DON'T... Don't tell me too much, I will have to obliviate myself again." Merlin cursed internally. He didn't care who Magnus was or what his powers were, he already knew he was related to him and Arthur and that's all that mattered.
...
Magnus was helping Merlin learn about the time turner so he could help him. Simple to say, he was blown up by how proficient Merlin was in magic, all he had to do was tell him once about any concept and Merlin would grasp it fairly easily.
Seeing things going smoothly, Magnus tried to talk about some of his personal problems and what he has achieved, "I'm pretty successful in attaining the dream, you know."
"The dream of peace and equality?" Merlin asked.
"Yes, the future world is vastly different, a lot of atrocities will have taken place by then. The world population will be huge. But, with my overwhelming strength and secret ploys, I was able to influence a big part of the world. I won't say I can bring peace and equality completely, but maybe eighty per cent." Magnus explained.
Merlin chuckled, "Eighty per cent is more than I was aiming for. I am here busy with just micromanaging this Kingdom, I don't know when I can even start working on the world. It's good to know you fulfilled it."
Magnus then changed the topic, "By the way, Merlin, I wanted to ask you something. Um... is there really no way to cure our infertility? You know, I will become the King of the United Kingdom, and I have a beautiful girl I love...I.."
"Want to have a family? Children someday?" Merlin stopped working and looked at him with a face full of sorrow. "I'm sorry to have brought this curse upon you as well. Sadly, I have not found a way to cure it yet."
"Is there a possibility of finding a way to cure it?" Magnus inquired.
"Nothing is impossible, Magnus. The reason why we became like this is the infusion of dragon blood into our bodies. If there is a disease, there is always a cure, you just have to find it." Merlin replied, giving Magnus hope.
"I hope you are right, Merlin. Anyway, do you want to know anything about the future?" he asked him, relaxing.
Merlin was honestly extremely interested in knowing about the distant future, but even knowing about it can cause harm to the timeline. "Does the world remember me and Arthur?"
"They do, but as fairy tale characters. People in the future think you two were just legends and not real. Though I changed that," Magnus revealed.
Merlin chuckled, "Why am I not surprised. The Church hates me and Arthur as we do not bow to them. They must have done all they could to erase any mention of us two."
~Oh, so this is what happened,~ Magnus realised. "But why? Isn't Arthur the supreme ruler?"
"He is, but he just does not care. And because we are trying to help the pagan religion followers to also settle down in the so-called "Christian lands," they call us traitors of the Church. I could have destroyed the Church long ago but Arthur stopped me,"
Magnus felt taken aback by how old these two were but how progressive their thoughts were, well, maybe not Arthur but Merlin sure did. He had to remember that some things that were unacceptable in the future were merely a part of daily life in this era.
"Which house did you get sorted in the future?" Merlin inquired.
"Slytherin, me and Ragnar are both from there. Although Salazar and the house do not have a good reputation in the future. It's known to produce one big Dark Lord that I am still fighting and many more dark wizards, I have changed that however. I took over the Wizengamoth with my power." Magnus briefed him. He didn't tell him about the Basilisk, however.
Merlin scowled, "Ugh... I remember Salazar was going crazier slowly at the end of my days in Hogwarts. He wanted me to become his heir but I rejected him, for his ways were sometimes too cruel."
"Well, he got what he deserves then, crap heir." Magnus snorted at it. If Voldemort was Slytherin's heir then the old man deserved his legacy to be stepped on.
"Stop talking and get back to work now, Magnus. The more time you spend here the worse it is," Merlin handed him a few tools quickly.
...
The year 1978, Hogwarts,
It had been 3 days since Magnus and Ragnar had all of a sudden disappeared from the school. Dumbledore, Severus and Emma were trying hard to look for them around the school but no matter what they tried they could not.
The phone didn't work, Emma's special ring that allowed her to talk to him didn't work either. It was strange as in theory it should be able to reach him around the world.
"I have no idea where he could be, it's as if he's not in this world," Emma worriedly said. Dumbledore, Severus, Adrian, Ted and Moody were present.
As soon as that was spoken, Severus' eyes widened, he remembered something, "I-I think I have some idea. Before the holidays started I heard Ragnar saying that Magnus was experimenting with a Time-Turner, trying to understand its principles. If Emma is not able to reach him then this can mean that..."
"He's not in this time," Dumbledore finished.
"Shit, this is even worse than being caught by Voldemort. If you're not able to reach him then this means he's way in the past." Moody cursed.
Now they had only one option, "It seems we need to pay a visit to the Department of Mysteries," Dumbledore proposed.
"But we need to keep it a secret that it's about Magnus. Nobody should find out that he's not among us anymore, as some opportunists might feel powerful due to it." Severus warned them all.
"We will be taking over the Ministry," Adrian suddenly voiced.
Moody faced him angrily, "What do you mean by that? You have no authority over the MInistry, trying to take it over is the same as what Voldemort wanted."
But Adrian didn't care, "I do not trust the Ministry, who knows how many more spies there are? MEDA and Dragon Service will take over the Ministry until Magnus is back,"
"You can try," Moody slammed his staff to the ground.
Emma shouted at them, "GUYS! STOP IT! If Magnus was here he would have smacked both of you. When you need to work together you are fighting. Ministry and MEDA can secure the Ministry all together and keep an eye on each other. But please, let's hurry,"
Realising they were being so stupid that a girl had to stop them, they nodded.
