Chapter 13: Doubt

After taking what he needs, Keon started exploring the forest again. The test will only last for six hours, there is no time to waste

Along the way, Keon met several of the falling snakes from the trees that he just casually killed and he put all of their corpses into his spatial ring

When Keon was exploring the forest for around fifteen minutes already, he suddenly heard Kreon's voice inside his mind

"Dodge!" Kreon shouted and Keon's body moved on its own as he runs to the side

Cold sweat trickled down in Keon's forehead when he saw an arrow landing in his earlier position. The arrow was only made from mystic energy as Keon watched it dissipate into specks of light. If not for Kreon, even if that arrow won't hit him, he might still be eliminated

Keon looks around him to see where the arrow came from. The possibility that it was a fellow human that attacks him is quite high and dealing with another human has a different kind of difficulty than fighting monsters

Humans after all have complete intellect. Their mind works more complex than monsters that mostly use their basic instincts

To Keon's misfortune, he found out that he is in an area with a lot of trees. It was possible that the enemy is hiding using the trees which isn't good

The enemy is an archer, they can surely use a terrain like this to their advantage

Without a choice, Keon runs to the side where the arrow landed and hid his body in one of the trees. He planned on using the trees to hide and protect his body

"Your weak ability makes me want to cry"

Kreon said that irks Keon a lot. They are already in this kind of situation yet Kreon is still insulting him when they can be considered the same person

"Just shut your mouth, don't disturb me" Keon replied in his mind before taking a peek but what he saw was another arrow flying in his direction

Keon immediately hid in the tree but his body sweated heavily again when he saw the arrow's head in his side. The enemy's arrow actually penetrated the tree before dissipating!

"Damn it!" Keon cursed and he moved into another tree in hopes that the enemy won't see him

However, just like what happened before, another arrow came flying in his direction and it penetrated the tree again

"This won't do, I might get shot soon and I can't even run away, that would just give away my location to the enemy"

Keon started thinking of what he can do in this situation. Too bad that his abilities were still lacking, his attacks are all simple ones and he can't think of a way to help himself in this situation

If only Keon can know where his attacker is, things would be a lot easier

"Oy stupid, I have a proposal" Kreon said and Keon furrows his brows at that

"Spill it" Keon replied while putting his guard up for another arrow

"We have the same body yet you are the dominant one despite your weak abilities"

Kreon's words never failed to get on Keon's nerves and the latter clenches his fist. "Cut the chase, get straight to the point!"

"Simply say, I want to enter the Hunter Department too to make this body stronger and I decided to help you. I can sense where the enemy is and I can take us to him but there is a condition"

Keon dodges another arrow first and moved on to a new tree before asking Kreon what the condition is. If Kreon can really help then Keon might not have a choice but to cooperate with him

"The condition is simple, you'll let me control our body and I will defeat him"

Keon's body stiffened at that. He is not completely aware of how a personality can gain dominance over the body but ... ever since the incident with the wasps, Kreon had more influence on their body than before

The two are the same person but they don't have the same personality. And they also want to be the dominant controller of their body, Keon cannot easily accept this proposal

Keon was about to refuse when he saw an arrow flying in his direction but this one's speed was faster than before!

The arrow was faster and also has a stronger penetrating power, it fully pierces through the tree and grazed past Keon's shoulder leaving a small wound in it. If he wasn't able to move fast enough, he won't get just a simple graze

"Hahahaha! So your answer is?" Kreon was delighted at this outcome and Keon doesn't have a choice but to grit his teeth and agree

"Fine, do it!" Keon answered as his attacker angered him now. How dare that bastard put him into this kind of situation?

Keon allows Kreon to take over and the light in their eyes changes into a more savage one

Instead of just hiding in the tree, Kreon started to retaliate. The man stops relying on the tree and showed himself in the open where he would be an open target to his attacker

"Asshole, what are you doing?!" Keon cursed in panic at seeing Kreon's reckless action

"Shut your mouth and watch, weakling!" Kreon answered before pouring strength into his arm

Another arrow once again targetted Kreon but his eyes and lips have a savage expression in them. With a slash of Kreon's sword, he managed to destroy that fast arrow

That made Keon extremely shock. Isn't he and Kreon sharing the same body and experience, how can this other personality of his be more skillful than him to this extent? Keon does not have the confidence to replicate what Kreon does. This isn't logical at all!

Kreon's body bursts with a wild power and his running speed were so fast it made his attacker anxious

"What did this guy ate?!" The archer cursed before jumping in another tree to change his location. It would be bad if he got too close to his target and got discovered

However, to the archer's shock, Kreon was actually running straight towards him with that creepy smile on his face

"D-did he discovered me? B-but that's impossible!" The archer doesn't want to believe it but the reality is already in front of him. No matter how many turns he took, Kreon will just change his running direction and his prey is actually inching closer to him the more seconds that pass

Soon, Kreon finally reaches the archer that nervously gathered mystic energy in his hand. Another arrow was condensed and the archer poured more mystic energy into it

Winds coated the arrow and it cuts the air as it targetted Kreon. In this distance, Kreon shouldn't be able to dodge since this arrow was faster than the other arrows

However, to the archer's despair, he saw a card appearing on top of his target's sword

Winds also coated Kreon's sword and his arm bursts with stronger power that he uses to deflect the arrow

The winds in the arrow and sword canceled out each other and the impact from Kreon's sword slash threw the arrow away

"Heh .... found you"

Kreon said with a sneer and he charges at that archer with the sword in his hand

The archer doesn't have any fighting power in close combat and the looks on Kreon's face made him scared. The archer's butt heavily fell in the ground and he closes his eyes bracing himself for his doom in the hands of Kreon

However, seconds pass and the archer didn't feel any pain. When he opened his eyes, he saw a man standing in front of him that blocks Kreon's sword

"That is enough" the man said and Keon immediately took control over their body

Kreon actually wants to genuinely kill the archer! If this man didn't stop him, the archer would have been dead by now. It wouldn't be good if Kreon showed such a savage side now. Fortunately, Keon still has the dominant control and he was able to immediately take over

"I-I'm sorry, I just really want to perform well and feared that my opponent still has a trump card" Keon apologizes and the change in his demeanor surprises the man

"I-it's fine, not holding back in a fight is the right thing to do. Take the contents of his ring and go"

Keon also apologizes to the archer for his earlier misconduct although he was seething inside him. After taking the spoils of war, Keon immediately runs away from the scene while talking inside his mind

"Are you insane?! You actually want to kill that archer. How can you show so much savageness when a lot of eyes are watching our action?" Kreon scolded but Kreon just dismissed his anger

"I don't want to hear you nagging. If you want me to continue helping you in this test, don't make me irritated"

Keon unconsciously clenches his fist at that. "Bastard, I won't let you take over again! You almost put us in trouble!"

"Talk again and I won't help you sense enemies and attacks anymore" Kreon threatened and Keon momentarily stops running. "What did you say?"

"Idiot, I told you I want to train this body in the Hunter Department. I was planning to lend my help but if you continue running your mouth like a bitch, I'd rather let you fail. Do you think with just your ability can you survive? Just how many times I had helped you already?"

As much as Keon doesn't want to admit it but if not for Kreon, there is really a high chance that he would be eliminated already

"H-how can you even sense those things when I can't? And why are our arm and shoulder aching, how can you use that much arm strength?" Keon asked as he was really curious about all these things

He and Kreon should be at the same level but why does he felt like Kreon is always superior to him?

"Why should I answer you? Just go straight at 3 o'clock, there should be some monsters there"

Keon was still in doubt. Scientifically speaking, there are also some people that develop another personality when they faced a traumatizing experience. Keon didn't doubt his condition before

Although Kreon acts like he is really just another personality developed by the traumatizing experience but his abilities are making Keon doubt him a bit

However, since they are still in this test, Keon doesn't have time to entertain such wild thoughts and he just went to the location that Kreon pointed at

Kreon didn't lie as Keon saw a group of five goblins. These goblins are some of the famous monsters. They are numerous but they are much weaker than other monsters

With five monsters at once, even if the points are low, they should still help raise Keon's points a bit

As soon as the goblins noticed Keon, they immediately issued an inhuman growl before charging at him

The goblins were wearing rag clothes that only covered their lower areas with wooden clubs as their weapon

With how weak the goblins are, Keon doesn't even need to use more mystic energy. His sword is already enough

The goblin was smaller than a human and Keon gave one of them a strong kick in the chest. His kick threw the body of the goblin and it collided with the two goblins behind it

Keon didn't stop at that and he slashes his sword at one of the goblins that want to attack him

A wide sword slash was created in the goblin's body and red blood spilled before its body heavily fell to the ground

The death of their comrade angered the other goblins and they madly smash their clubs at Keon. Too bad that Keon was not hit by them as their attacks are easy to dodge

Keon continued slashing his sword at the weak goblins and soon, all of them died. But he found out that his arm and shoulder were in a worse condition than he had thought

Now that Keon thinks of it, how can his body even deflect that archer's last arrow? That required great physical strength and that might even be the cause of his pain
