Moving On

The day I was supposed to fly back to Cebu, a hurricane happened. The wind and rain just wouldn't stop. It was so strong that houses made out of light materials were flown away to nowhere. Hundreds of deaths are recorded and are continuously rising with just a span of a few hours the hurricane made landfall.

The Philippines is often regarded as the home of paradise and white sand beaches. However, at the other side of the coin, we experience an average of 20 hurricanes a year. That's a lot for the Filipino people to brace and survive. Every year, all citizens are prone to the dangers brought about by super typhoons. Floods, landslides, and storm surges.

Thankfully, we are considered to be privileged because we are living in big and secured houses. However, my heart wrenches for the others whose house is easily destroyed with just one sweep of the hurricane.
