43: Demon [Short Story + Author Note]

Klein was curious about some things about Yoinaegi's ability because he was absorbing some kind of energy, which Klein could not yet identify, but that energy may be what caused the mutation of his original ability to store and give power, making him able to give his ability to another person... Klein tried to copy that energy and he was capable to do so, just like he is capable of copying any energy he comes in contact with the energy's purest form, but he was not able to control it very well. Klein suspects that energy is some kind of variant of one of the energies that Klein came in contact with and almost died.

Void Energy...

The complete opposite of Cosmic Energy that he has learned how to detect and is slowly learning how to use it. Klein can see some aspects of the energy Yoinaegi has been absorbing with his ability... But where is he taking energy from? Once Klein noticed that energy, he began to search for it in the atmosphere and he couldn't find it anywhere, so there was something obvious about this... Yoineagi was:

One: Absorbing this energy from a pocket dimension within his very own body or even soul.

or

Two: Yoinaegi's body was creating that energy, which can be both very simple and very hard at the same time.

He shouldn't even be able to absorb this energy in the first place! Void Energy is the energy to destroy everything, and when in contact with the boy's body, it should have destroyed his cells and killed him... But what if it was? What if his weak body wasn't some disease but the Void Energy slowly destroying his body as tiny quantities enter in contact with his body through his ability? What if he could interact with this energy from the very start but he didn't know how because he thought he had no power, locking this ability in the depths of his subconscious mind?

The variant of this Void Energy was very hard to control but Yoinaegi did it like he has been doing it all his life, which may be true! What if he controlled this energy with his subconscious to adapt his body to it, slowly making it adapt to the energy so it wouldn't simply disappear and be destroyed by this chaotic energy? This very destructive and hard to predict energy... Klein decided to call it Khaos Energy. It is very destructive but very random too, just like a Wild Magic Sorcerer... He has been playing too much DnD with Max and Chloe... Back to Yoinaegi's health problem, maybe because his brother gave him this ability to absorb energy from the surrounding area and use it, his original powers mutated.

The C-01 Energy and the Kaos Energy must have fused and created something new... Something that Klein has to try to see what it may be. He can't feel it, which is strange, but he is certainly sure that it exists inside Yoinaegi's body. Maybe it only will activate if he passes his ability over to another person? Like it will fuse with the person and strengthen their abilities? Will they get his Kaos Energy ability too or would it simply stay with him or vanish when he passes his ability to another person?

So many questions... And Klein doesn't want to treat Yoineagi like a lab rat, so he will restrain himself and simply find a way to copy that energy and get ro to manipulate it. Maybe this energy can shake reality like Cosmic and Void energy can! It would be interesting to test it out, but he needs to be careful. Without reality, there will be no time, so he won't be able to rewind time to reverse the effects of a Reality Break event.

-Scene Break Event-

While Klein was having his monologue about Yoinaegi's power, the world was diving into chaos.

What would you do if you suddenly grow up an extra arm, or you suddenly can control water? You would first find it strange. intriguing, or scary, later you think about the possibility of other people having powers as you have, or wonder why you got these powers and why you have them.

Others may have more drastic or different outcomes and reactions depending on their powers. Let me give an example, Brian Levine is a young 17 years old boy who has a very conservative and religious family, one day he simply wakes up and when he looks at himself in the mirror he sees that he has a pair of horns, his skin turned red, and he has now a tail. He became the devil! Is he possessed!? He panics until he hears the giggles and laughs coming from downstairs, it was his twin sister which he hated, she was the worst person he knows, he hears his parents laugh with her and giggle too... He desperately goes downstairs to get help, but when he gets there, his sister and parents are on their knees praying.

The reason? He can see the white, feathery wings on his sister's back... She already looked like an angel before, and now that she has these wings, she might as well call herself an angel. They were giggling and crying, soon he understood why as he saw the same wings on his parents' back. They were all angels, while he was a demon. Now he understands why they were giggling and laughing, this must be a paradise for them. Suddenly his sister opens her eyes and shouts an ear-shattering scream, as her eyes go wide in fear and panic as she looks at him.

Brian feels the urge to ask her why does she seems scared by his look since she sees something worse every day when she looks at herself in the mirror, but he rather not be easy because his parents suddenly opened their eyes and looked at him. Their eyes shone with fear for a second before they realized that he was wearing their son's clothes, just as he was about to ask them what was going on, he sees his sister raise her hand towards him as light gathers on her palm and an arrow made out of light hits his leg and he screams in pain as it burns his flesh. "ARGH!" It was then that he noticed his voice also changed, it sounded more... demonic. His sister panics and tries to attack again because if they learned something from a horror movie is that you kill it till it dies.

But this time he reacted, his hands placed in front of him, he watched in surprise as a bolt of dark-red energy forming a javelin hit his sister's left arm and left an open hole. It all happened in seconds, his red skin was now sweaty as his red eyes looked at his sister in anger, he shouted: "What the fuck Cassidy!? Are you trying to fucking kill me!?" His voice was hoarse and deep, his scream echoed like he was speaking directly to their minds. "B-brian!?" She shouts in realization, but soon her mother places her hand in her mouth and screams: "He has been possessed!" It was at that moment their father sprung to action, he leaped and grabbed his arms and held him. "WHAT ARE Y-" before he could end his sentence, his father shouted: "Silence demon! Leave my son's body!"

It was at that moment that Brian realized that they thought he wasn't 'him' but a demon possessing 'him'. "Wait, I am your son! It's me! Brian!" Of course, his father did not believe it, his mother came forward and placed her hands on his wound, her hands glowed for a second as he began to feel a burning sensation in his leg as the hole left behind by the light arrow began to bleed like a fountain. His mother suddenly backed away with panic in her eyes, it looks like that wasn't supposed to happen at all as she exclaims: "He is the devil!" Brian could only assume, but it looked like every one of his family different powers other than the wings. His sister had this arrow thing and his mother had shining hands, possibly it was a healing ability but it didn't work on him because of his powers, maybe they negate each other?

And his father... Even though Brian was trashing and moving his body, his father did not move once, it looks like his power is super strength or something related to it. With his appearance and the way their abilities interact, of course, they would think he is the devil or is possessed by one.

Now, with his family certain that he is the devil, with a leg bleeding, and his body restrained, what can he do? Nothing much, he is scared because his family was acting strange. They normally act fanatically but this is too much, right? They just woke up with wings and powers and they think they are the chosen one or something like that, and they now think he is the devil just because of his appearance. "We need pastor John to exorcise him. Cassidy! The phone!" Pastor John was a sick man, Brian knew that he was a man that thought that God hated everything different from the "normal" straight white couple with a White House, white children, and white life.

Brian was bisexual, he was scared of coming because his family would certainly throw him out, and now he thinks it might have been a great idea. That man is disgusting, just his homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, and racist views make Brian disgusted, now place it together with the appearance of a 60 years old white man with a white supremacy complex. That sounds terrible.

And having that man exorcise him!? When he doesn't even have the devil in his body! Maybe the devil isn't even real! Brian of course didn't want to be touched by that man or be less than 10 feet away from that man. His legs and arms trashed as he tried to break free from his father's hold, his red bat-like wings were being pressed against his father's torso, his hand glowed again as he used again that same dark-red javelin projectile to hit his father's arm who let him go. Brian was scared like every teenager would have been if suddenly your family attacks you, his mother took some 'holy water' that pastor John sold her (That man was also a scammer!) and threw the flask on his face.

The glass flask broke and the glass hit his eyes, blinding him as it cut his eyeballs. Also, the water did nothing but wet him, which irritated him as the pain and adrenaline were kicking in making him feel like he needed to leave that place. He didn't know this as he could see anything, but his horns were releasing fire, not only his horns but also his mouth as he cried in pain holding his face. His mother thought it was because of the holy water, which further increased her thoughts that her son was possessed by the devil. Her hands glowed again as she tried to touch him again, she thought that her healing power would get the devil out of her son's body but it didn't. All it caused was that Brian began to bleed from his eyes as the pain increased.

Now, his tail is a classic devil-like tail, but here's the thing: It is like a cat's paw, it has a sting inside it. Such sting is full of a dark black poison, strong enough to kill an elephant in one simple swipe, he didn't know so he tried to get her from touching him and his tail moved, the sting was released and he hit his mother's stomach. She instantly grunted and let go of her son's possessed body (She thinks that) as the devil opened its bloody eyes and cried tears of blood. She thought it the remnants of her son, fighting against the devil, she raised her hand and touched him for the last time saying: "It's not your fault..." As the poison quickly acted and her heart stopped. It was instantaneous, her husband quickly jumped and tackled his son, crying and cursing at him while smashing his fists down upon the boy.

All Brian could feel was the pain in his heart, eyes, and the buzzy sound in his ears as his head was being smashed on the floor. Then he felt dread as something was pressing his throat, he heard cracks as his throat was breaking, he opened his eyes to see his father, eyes bright yellow-white as he cried. The devil killed his wife, he must kill the devil, so he can avenge his wife and save his som from suffering a life of being possessed by the devil. It was at that moment he thought what every human thinks: 'I don't want to die.' He doesn't want to die, not yet at least, he raised his hand in front of his father's face and it glowed, he just saw his father's head explode in blood and gore.

Soon, he heard a high-pitched scream as his sister entered the room. It looks like she just called the man, Pastor John, who was now beside her. This guy lived a few blocks down their street, where the church was located, to come here that fast he must have been around their house or near it. The man looked at Brian and the two corpses on the ground, Brian didn't want to be here. He was scared and in panic, he didn't know what to do, soon he felt his body react as his wings expanded and flapped.

The feeling of flying was felt by him as his body carried him away, by instinct. It was a fight or flight situation, and he chose to fly.

Now, this is an introduction to one side character that will be one important figure in this world.

After being trained by Klein, he will become one of the best warriors that Klein personally trained, his powers will also increase as he discovers that his power was a connection to one of the layers of hell, which he draws energy from and changed his body too. In the future, he will become a hell lord, but he will never forget the true terror the Wicked Angel placed in his heart. In the future, even his children will train with Klein, and they too will become one of the best, and like that Klein will be known as [Winged Terror] by the demons.
