Alena slipped out of the flat after Exodus had gone down to the town. If her friends were still there she had get to them, and get out of there.
She closed the door behind her to the back of the club walking down the steps onto the city street. She walked almost a mile through the city until she came to two large barns, she walked cautiously over to them not knowing what they held. With very little light inside it she stepped in to the first she took her lighter out of her jean pocket flicking several times before it ignited. She half mooned the flame to keep it a light. She rotated round the barn nervously. A blooded face appeared in front of hers the flame disengaged. ‘Shit.’ She flicked it to ignite it once again. The flame showed many dead blooded bodies hanging in the barn maybe twenty of them, some her friends, others she did not know. She took her finger off the splint and ran.
The gates to the second opened she ran in. she skidded. Her heart palpitating faster her breathing getting heavier not knowing what was in this second barn. She walked slowly and cautiously over to the barn igniting her lighter.
She walked cautiously and nervously into the second barn the flame of the lighter shaky like the hand it was held in. another twenty bodies hung bloody, dead. The bodies of Griegh, Jackie, and Kel hung there, but where was Helena? she remembered that she had seen her.
Exodus had told her that they were alive, why had he lied to her when they were all dead?
She turned dropping her lighter the barn flamed as she ran from it.
She skidded coming to a halt as she came upon another house, she looked through its glass doors at a red haired girl, drained and bloody mouthed. ‘HELENA!’
Alena grabbed for the door handle pushing it down screaming frantically. ‘HELENA!’ Tears slipped down her face, she loosed the door handle, thinking that her friend was dead she turned and ran her tears flying off her face. Wiping them away. She had to get Stacey and get them both out of there before they ended up dead too.
Alena ran through the silent city turning down the street that she had turned down earlier that day. She opened the door to the cottage running up the stairs where Stacey was awake and sitting on the bed she turned looking at Alena. ‘Shortie what are you doing here?’
‘Come on we’ve got to get out of here.’
‘What about the others?’
‘They’re dead, they’re all dead!’
‘Kel and Jackie?’
‘They’re dead too.’
Stacey looked at Alena. ‘But..’
‘Do you believe me? Are you coming with me, or are you staying here?’
‘You haven’t seen him Shortie. You don’t know what hides behind his mask.’
‘I’ve seen X he’s his own. He can’t be any worse.’
‘He’s so evil Shortie. Just like Satan. Horns, all fiery eyed.’
‘A demon devil.’
‘What sort of place is this Shortie?’
‘A City of Evil.’
‘What?’
‘Come with me and I’ll tell you everything.’
Alena grabbed Stacey’s hand pulling her up off the bed running out of the room and down the stairs out into the city streets.
