Chapter 260: LIGHT OR DARKNESS

Lluming felt a sickening twist in his stomach,

Guilt and sense of responsibility, perhaps?

Even so, his expression remained the same,

Too sick to follow, serve and obey.

Right now, he doesn't think of himself as an angel,

But a brother who ought to take revenge.

For even if someone calls his name,

He wouldn't answer, his ears would be locked in place.

He gripped his weapon tightly and looked Eligorr in the eye,

Adrenaline spreading throughout his body like fire.

His strength felt oddly replenished,

Or was he tricking himself it somehow did?

Is he really okay? or was he just ignoring the pain?

Is he truly alright to be fighting? Or was he just forcing himself to win?

Whatever the truth was, one thing was certain,

That his heart was wildly yelling at him in protest.

He knew despite his blinding anger that what he was doing was wrong,

But he couldn't help but grow his own horns.

He shouldn't be feeling this way,

Shouldn't be feeling this poisonous hate.

He shouldn't question why God wasn't there,

Back when Eleazar was fighting a fight so unfair.

But here he is, mind filled with questions.

Heart bleeding, still hurt from the revelation,

Still stuck in the day where Eleazar promised his return,

Only to feel depressed, when the angels revealed the truth.

That his brother who was kind to all,

Had died a painful death, all alone.

His ifs and whys plagued his head,

Heart begging that it wasn't real.

He blamed himself for being absent,

Or was he just looking for anyone to blame and resent?

If only he was there,

Would it not have happened?

Lluming hated himself for this matter,

Being so...emotionally vulnerable.

Asking God why He didn't care enough.

Asking Him, why his brother wasn't able to come back.

Is it that for Him, he's just another angel up above?

How can He be selfish then, how can He not understand?

How can someone who claims to be filled with love,

Let a loyal servant die on a traitor's hand?

Lluming's mind soon turned to black,

Completely ignoring heaven's warning,

And the last remaining light in his heart.

"If God won't punish and burn you alive,

I'll do twice that harsh."

That was the moment Lluming embraced the darkness he had been keeping all along,

Finally admitting, that he himself, was no better than demons.

And that release felt powerful.

As though he had been freed from his logic and reason.

He felt light, but heavy the same,

A feeling, right now, he cannot explain.

He then firmly told himself not to care about anything,

At least, while Eligorr is still living.

And so, he completely left his chains,

As the skies mourned with rain.

He soon attacked Eligorr with no hesitation,

Making the demon send off his clones.

But than fall down as he had expected,

The archangel fought in a way that could only be described as impressive.

As if the weakling he had been fighting some time ago was replaced,

Replaced by something, he alone cannot fathom at a quick pace.

He gritted his teeth, as he watched his summons die one by one.

While Lluming continued to yell curses he once had not tried.

The words that left the angel's mouth gave Eligorr a surprise.

"He must hate me that much,

For his voice to be heard a mile."

More than the quick thrusts Lluming give,

There was also something Eligorr could not help but notice.

That the angel he is fighting had improved in terms of speed.

That to follow his movements,

is also a feat.

At this rate, he might as well devise a plan,

Than simply rely on his clones that could any moment, die.

He breathed heavily as he look at the angel, wary.

Seeing that his opponent was VERY serious about burning his body.

He then tried to overwhelm Lluming with his numbers,

As he try to distance himself from the celestial monster.

Before he could stray far however,

He saw Lluming struggle with his clones.

He felt his eyes widen at first,

But soon, felt his chest relieved at most.

He then couldn't help but laugh at the sight,

"Just when I thought you had a chance in this fight."

He continued to laugh at the angel,

and his very own self.

"Oh gosh, how could I worry about you winning the battle?"

He then wiped a tear off his face, and tried to calm himself down,

"After all...you're all alone now."

He then turned and tried to walk at a further distance,

Planning to watch the archangel, struggle from afar.

When he thought he was far enough,

He watched Lluming, still having the struggle of his life.

And he laughed again,

Finding entertainment in seeing the resentful angel dare.

He was then about to sit down,

Until he noticed that blood suddenly gushed out.

He was shocked at the speed of the attack that he wasn't able to notice.

And for a moment, just blankly stared.

Turns out, what he had been watching were just after-images,

Created by his well-cunning opponent.

His gut continued to bleed and sting,

While his once proud knees became a bit shaky.

He felt his pride melt away,

Now unsure how the fight would play.

Eligorr couldn't move at that moment.

His eyes locked with Lluming, his fierce opponent.

He was smiling at him,

In the most twisted way an angel could.

And that was when he realized,

An angel could also be, a terrifying creature.

Lluming then buried his sword deeper into his insides,

Making Eligorr unsuccessful in stopping his incoming cries.

He screamed so loud, matching the thunder that boom the skies,

While the tears he had been keeping,

fell to both his eyes.

Eligorr felt his body shake as he tried to force himself to move,

But Lluming was firmly holding him,

that his efforts were no use.

He then pushed Eligorr to the ground,

And in a sinister voice said,

"It's my turn to laugh now,"

Eligorr then quickly kicked Lluming as his adrenaline shot up,

Determined to keep his dear life from being robbed.

He soon sent summons to deal with him,

As he run for his life,

thanking the fact he could heal.

But the chance he could lose was still making his heart race,

Sweat clearly beading on his forehead.

Suddenly, he heard Lluming speak again.

"I know you're a demon, but I'd like to see you pray."

It was then followed by a laugh so harsh and deep,

Making Eligorr multiply thrice the speed.

"How are you so strong??"

Eligorr asked, truly so lost.

Lluming beheaded his copies with ease,

And upon hearing the question, smiled like a beast.

"You're a pathetic coward who have so much to lose.

A coward who still wanted a future.

But I, have bet my life for yours.

And thus, death is no longer a bother.

I'm giving my all.

All for the hope you'll end up dead like the others."

"How can you say such things?

It's a lie if you don't want to live!"

"Maybe. But right now,

Nothing brings me happiness than seeing you cower."

And with each word, Lluming gets closer and closer.

"You see,

My mind just won't let me rest until I see you suffer.

Until I see your intestines exposed,

Until I see your blood falling like pools.

And your big head rolling on the ground,

And your heart struggling to produce a sound.

Hah, what a wonderful thing that would be.

I just...I just can't wait to see!"

"You're insane!"

"And you're the problem!

You and the demons that don't give a care until their wings are clipped.

You and those brats that does their things without thinking how we'd feel.

Life was so beautiful back then when your kind didn't interfere.

But you just have to ruin it."

Lluming's shoulders looked very tense,

As he behead the last remaining pawn at his expense.

He looked at Eligorr, this time with sadness and pain,

Mixed with a hint of anger within.

"Eligorr, even if you try your hardest,

You're just a parasite meant to be disposed.

A parasite living inside the looks of my brother.

Can't you see? You're the disease that's killing us all.

I didn't...I wouldn't have done this.

I would have behaved very well like he tells me.

But it's so darn hard to be sane and proper,

When some idiots decided to disrespect my brother!"

His softness then returned to his voice,

As his tears suddenly blurred his vision.

Lluming felt frightened at his own reaction,

Knowing well that his weakness were emotions.

His red eyes suddenly returned to blue,

As his heart tamed, knowing he've returned.

At the back of his head, Lluming was screaming, "No."

Still not believing, his kind self would win at his cause.

But it was though he heard a voice call him to calm,

It was his brother's, not wishing him any harm.

He knew he just imagined it, as he was gone.

Yet somehow, he followed it,

Perhaps he went far.

The skies returned to normal knowing that Lluming had listened to his heart.

But his fatigue had also returned to the previous state it was.

He felt his knees weaken as his adrenaline came to a halt,

That the only thing keeping him awake, was him biting his tongue hard.

Eligorr took the opportunity to fly away,

But Lluming, persistent, joined him in the air.

Eligorr then summoned more clones to put the angel down,

As the demon hoped, he would never surmount.

But a spear shot unto his wing as he was about to fly higher,

Causing him to look down, looking for the source of trouble.

Lluming was there, still struggling to fight off his clones,

But was still hopeful, in bringing him down.

Soon enough, Lluming's barrier ward them off,

Sending several clones, falling to the ground.

He panted, his energy was barely enough to keep using it,

But decided to put everything to finish him.

"You're amazing but amazing isn't enough to win,"

Eligorr's cockiness soon returned when he saw his state.

He dropped to the ground and threw Lluming's spear,

Scratching Lluming's barrier,

which had turned quite thin.

"Good is always weak."

Eligorr said as he summoned another him.

Lluming soon felt his barrier fading,

and his conciousness slipping.

"Ah, having a hard time to stay awake?"

But he was too focused on keeping his arms up,

That he didn't even bother to reply at anything the demon says.

He tried to keep his eyes straight,

But exhaustion began to take weight.

Blood oozed from his mouth but it wasn't felt,

Since staring at Eligorr, is all that's in his head.

Eligorr wondered if he was allowed to act like he does,

But what can he do? Mocking an angel feels so fun.

He then told the clone to kill Lluming,

"And make it quick.

I can't afford making him escape."

It nodded and summoned its own sword,

"Good, now go follow my word."

The clone walked straight ahead,

As Lluming, tried his best to prepare.

But his barrier suddenly vanished,

And now he knew, he had reached his limit.

His mind soon hopelessly scramble to devise a plan,

But he, with his current state, had devised none.

He gagged out blood and his life flashed before his eyes,

Then remembered every little sin he committed to God.

He had no right to hope for survival.

.

.

.

Lluming then, could only apologize,

Knowing well, he could really die.

"God, if this is my punishment for being a stubborn child,

Then I now accept my death, with all my heart."

He closes his eyes, as he awaits his death,

But the clone, who was to kill him, suddenly

stopped its way.

Eligorr was shocked, and was filled with wonder,

Of what's stopping his own clone, to obey his order.

"I said no fooling around!

Kill the angel now!"

But as soon as the clone turned around,

Eligorr couldn't make another sound.

The only word in his mind then,

was 'how'.
