Triad - a secret society originating in China, typically involved in organized crime.

*to differentiate triads there are Clans, a different named Clan is a different Triad*

Yakuza - a Japanese organized crime syndicate similar to the mafia

Syndicate - a group of individuals or organizations combined that promote some common interest

THE RANKS OF A (TRADITIONAL) TRIAD

*triads use numeric codes to distinguish ranks*

*if a person is in any of these ranks, that is their position within the Triad*

[489] DRAGON HEAD - leader

the person who is in charge

[438] DEPUTY DRAGON HEAD - second in command

when the boss is gone, this person takes charge in their place

[428] VANGAURD - operations officer

an individual who plans crime

operations.

[426] RED POLE - enforcer

an individual who oversees defensive and offensive operations and imposes the will of the Triad through any means (ex, violence).

[448] INCENSE MASTER - ceremonies officer

an individual who supervises the triad initiations

[415] WHITE PAPER FAN - administrator

an individual who provides financial and business advice

[432] STRAW SANDAL - liaison officer

an individual who acts as a link to assist communication or cooperation between the ranks

[49] 49ER - ordinary member

an individual that doesn't have a numeric rank and therefore doesn't have an important duty

BLUE LANTERN - uninitiated member

an individual who isn't officially in the triad and also does not have a numeric rank
