Under a mask

Sam followed Jake outside but he had already strolled up to the end of the corridor. She ran after him to catch up but Jake was a little too fast. Somehow she managed to yell his name and finally ran up to him. 

"Why did you leave the room like that? "Sam asked when she was breathing normally again. 

" Why did you follow me? "Jake said as distracted his gaze from her. 

" Because you stormed out of the room suddenly. I know it's difficult. I understand. "She tried to console him. 

" Oh please…just leave me alone for a moment. "He said in a hoarse voice and waited for her reply without looking at her. " You don't need to worry about me, as I told you earlier. "

Samantha's mouth gaped at his response as she stared at him for a while before gathering her thoughts "okay suit yourself. If it wasn't Suzanne who told me to come I… " She was about to complete but Jake just left her there staring at his figure walking far into the office cabins.
