Chapter 5: Cannibals

Lilith found herself in a room with a touch of pink and white. Her eyes landed to a girl in front of a mirror, doing an SFX makeup. She figured that the girl is probably a public figure due to the lightings and the set up of the room. It's almost like a studio, a mini studio. Lilith walks towards her but as she saw a closer view, it was the girl in the newspaper. Felicia.

Felicia didn't seem to notice her at all after waving her hand in front of her. Lilith looked at herself,

"Am I a ghost?" she thought.

She saw the girl, taking pictures of her horror-realistic makeup and seems to enjoy herself. Lilith walked out to the door and leave Felicia behind and went downstairs and overheard a conversation.

"I'm getting hungry, Lucia. I just can't wait!" Lilith went to the kitchen and saw two people having a conversation. Probably the mother and father of Felicia.

"Lower down your voice, George before she could hear you," Felicia's mother said, sipping the soup that she cooked. "I am also hungry, George but we have to wait. Once she knows about it, you know the cue"

Lilith was confused, "what cue?" she asked herself. No one seems to notice Lilith as she went to the kitchen table as if joining them. Footsteps heard, running downstairs.

"Mom!" Felicia's mother jolted, surprised seeing Felicia's sliced mouth with her eyes dripping with blood. "Hi, Dad!" Felicia's father was stunned, mouth opened.

"You scared me, Felicia. Don't ever do that!' Felicia laughed and walked towards her mother. "Sorry, mom. It's just makeup, I'll take it off as soon as I can take selfies and post it on Instagram. Just chill, Mom!" and hugged her.

"Mom, can I go to my friend's house tonight?" she asked, cheeks on the shoulder of her mother.

"Sure, why not honey?"

"I'll go home before 6pm"

"You can even go home before 10 pm" Lilith looked at Felicia's mother. Awed of how considerate she is to Felicia and how she gave her freedom of what Felicia wants to do, unlike her stern mother that sometimes she needs to lie to do what she wants. It must be nice to have a mother as Felicia has.

"okay, Mom! Love youuuu" Felicia said and went back upstairs.

"Stunned by her looks?"

Felicia's father snapped back and replied, "Yes, she reminded me of—"

"Cathlia" Felicia's mother continued.

"Right!" George answered and sit straight up. "looks like we'll be having a feast tonight". Lucia turned around smiling menacingly, "looks like it, George"

Weird.

As Felicia went out, Lilith was left with Felicia's mother and father. Lilith sitting and watching them prepared for their "feast". She was surprised when Lucia took something out of the refrigerator. It was a head, a human female head with its hair attached.

"This is the only leftovers." Lilith noticed an unknown shadow consumed by Felicia's mother and father before they eat which make Lilith leave her mouth-opened. Lucia said as the sharp teeth were dug on the female human head. She passed the human head to George. "Are you sure?" her husband asked, chewing.

She couldn't believe of what she just saw, both of them have sharp teeth.

Lilith asked in her thought, " Are her mother and father.. cannibals?"

"This is not enough, I'll check if we have anything to eat" Felicia's father went outside and head to the basement, followed by Lilith. Lilith has no words to describe of what she saw inside the basement. A basement that full of dried skin of a human, hanging. Bones compiled to the corner and a variety of jars contained with unknown and unusual and unknown being inside. She can't bear the rotten smell inside the basement and went out and wait for Felicia's father to come out. A few minutes later, a decayed human body is what Felicia's father took out of the basement. Felicia's father scrunched his face up to its odor.

"How old is this is in the basement?" Felicia's mother asked as she saw the decayed human body being placed in the kitchen table, in front of Lilith. "A week ago," Felicia's father said and sit.

"You know we can't eat a flesh that is been passed a week ago!" Felicia's mother said, rubbing her forehead.

"Just bear with it. A lot of reports came after we ate people outside. I know a fresh flesh is what we want right now." Lilith stood up, witnessing that they sliced the stomach opened and remove its insides using their hand with a surgical glove. She took a step backward and accidentally broke a vase behind her, causing a breaking sound which made Felicia's parents alarmed.

"Who's there?" Lucia and George's eyes looked into Lilith's direction as if she was being seen. Lucia stood up and went to her direction. Lilith immediately shut her eyes, hoping she wouldn't be seen.
