His haunting eyes

Next few days passed by in a haze. I had a high fever and was not able to go to school. I got several calls and texts from Raven after that night but I ignored them and blocked him. We didn't tell anyone anything, not even Alex. I knew that would lead to no good. I just can't risk getting him hurt again.

Alex called me to inform me that he will be visiting me after school with Sandi and we will go to my favorite ice-cream parlor and rides. He joined school this week.

I was feeling better so I decided to take a shower. I have been like a dead soul the past few days dwelled in my own thoughts. There was a wierd sadness lingering around my heart and if I looked back, there wasn't any solid reason for my depressed state.

It's enough, I thought to myself and went into the bathroom stripping down my clothes and jumping into the warm water. My whole body was instantly relaxed in the warm water and I felt so good.

After getting out of the shower I put on my best outfit consisting of a black top and a leather skirt and paired it with a black jacket and neon sneakers. I left my hair falling down in waves and did a little makeup.

When I was satisfied with myself I came downstairs and informed mom.

There was still time till Alex and Sandi would be picking me up so I decided to walk in fresh air. I was walking on the path beside the road taking deep breaths in the air trying to fill myself with its calmness. Suddenly my life and head was all messed up. I was worried about dad and his partnership with Xavier's father. I don't want dad to be working with them. I want to stop him but how...what would I say?

My thoughts were interrupted by the honking of Alex's car. I ran towards his car getting in. Both of them were looking beautiful. Sandi was wearing a purple top with white jeans and Alex was wearing a grey jumper with matching sweatpants.

"Oh man, you buds are gonna steal the spotlight tonight." I told them, fastening my seat belt.

"And you are going to dim ours." Alex complimented back laughing.

"Yeah girl you are beaming tonight. Goshhhh, I missed you." Sandi added.

"Missed you guys too," I told them honestly.

At first we decided to go to the rides. I wanted some adventure full of adrenaline after all these dull days. We didn't force Alex to sit with us this time because his hand is still healing. So he stayed there making our videos and taking pictures.

Soon the fun was over and we reached our new fun spot aka ice cream parlor. We ordered our usual flavors chocolate, mango and strawberry. We like these three flavors so each of us buy one and then we eat all of those by sharing from each other. It's our thing.

We sat in our usual booth and ate our ice creams, watching our stupid pictures from the rides. I 'accidently' rubbed some chocolate on Alex's cheeks and then the world War three started. All of us throwing ice cream at each other and laughing at each other's faces. Soon the waiters came and threw us out of the parlor banning our entry again.

We burst out laughing again as soon as we saw each other's humiliated faces standing outside the shop. People were giving us amused looks from the windows.

"It's all your fault. I didn't ever get to finish my ice cream." I pouted at Alex.

"Oh really? I was the one who started it first?" He replied sarcastically still laughing at my state.

"Very funny, you are not looking any cooler than me." I made a face at him.

"Guyz my new top is ruined."

Both of us looked at Sandi and another round of laughter erupted. She was literally looking like an embarrassed puppy who accidentally fell into a puddle.

"Bells?" A male voice interrupted our laughing session.

I turned towards the person who called my name and was met with a smiling Raven. A little far away from him was standing Dylan and the Devil himself. His face was turned towards the car and he was busy typing on his phone while Dylan waved at me.

I tried to smile back but nothing happened. I heard Alex clearing his throat behind me and I quickly turned back towards them ignoring Raven.

"Let's go guys," I held Alex's and Sandi's hand pulling them with me.

"Listen Bells, I need to talk to you." Raven called from behind but before I could have reacted, Alex turned back pulling away his hand from mine.

"I think she made it clear that she doesn't want to talk. And don't call her that." He said to Raven who was now looking angry too.

"Stop me, Hayden." he shot back.

"Enough both of you. Alex come on, we should go. I will talk to you later." I looked at Raven who gave me a nod.

"Why would you talk to him Bells and why is he fucking calling you Bells?" Alex was now turned towards me, hurt and anger apparent on his features. He pressed on the nickname he gave me. He doesn't like anyone else calling me that except him.

My heart squirmed inside my chest. I looked at Sandi for help but she looked like she would cry any minute.

"I...No it's not like that. He..." I was trying to form an answer but someone else spoke in my place.

"Because she can do whatever she wants to." His deep voice shunned me and Alex both.

I turned my head and glared daggers in his direction but he looked unaffected by my anger.

Who the hell does he think he is?

He stepped in front of Alex and both of them were fuming. Their noses were inches apart and they looked like they would rip apart one another.

I would have laughed at Alex if the situation wouldn't have been this serious. He was looking so funny ice cream drooling down his neck and clothes and his hairs messed up which I was ruffling earlier.

No, I can't let that happen again.

I got in between them pushing Xavier away and standing in a defending position in front of Alex.

"Don't you dare hurt him again. What is your problem? No one asked for your opinion here." I was already mad at him and this gave me a reason to let out my frustration at him.

He looked down at me and I think I saw a hint of hurt glistening in his eyes.

This is not possible, its just my stupid brain!

Him and hurt? Bruh!

He didn't say anything and I rolled my eyes at him.

Alex was moving towards his car and I followed him. Sandi was already sitting in the car. She can't handle drama.

From the very first day I saw his haunting eyes, not a single day has passed normally. Why can't he just get lost and never be found again?

I climbed in the car without glancing back and Alex drove off. He was silent the entire ride and I too kept my mouth shut. Sandi was looking out of the window her hands fiddling in her lap. Maybe all of us needed some space.

Alex stopped at my door and I was unable to resist his hurt struck face. So I climbed out and moved to the window of the driver's seat hoping for him to say something. He turned his head to look at me.

"I thought I was enough but I guess I was wrong. And yeah he was right, you can do whatever you want. I am no one to tell you what to do. I am sorry." He said with a face which he makes whenever he is really hurt about something and my heart felt like it was breaking in my chest.

At this rate of my increasing heartbreaks, I will be dead soon...

"Trust me Alex, it's not like what it is looking like. You are my best friend and you can tell me to do things. I gave you this right myself. I will never betray you for them. I know what I am doing, just trust me for once please?" I requested him and placed my hand on his shoulder. It wasn't the right time and place to say all those things but I knew I won't be able to sleep if I didn't let that out or let him leave without an explanation.

His face softened but he didn't say anything back. I waved at Sandi who gave me a helpless smile in return and they drove off.

What a night!
