A building hidden amid thousands of trees stood tall. There were no villages and roads within a hundred miles of it. There were only a few intricate secret military bases, guarding this square building like bodyguards.

Here was the true core of the Earth Federation — the Federation's Quantum Deity Laboratory and in this building was the world's most precious thing, "Adam".

Adam was a quantum computer but its form was very strange, like an abstract sculpture built by an artist. It was composed of large and small translucent glass-like gears as well as irregular parts. Many tassels were hanging down too, full of strange beauty.

If one day "Adam" broke down or lost its power of prediction, then within a month, the entire Earth Federation would fall apart, disintegrating like the Soviet Union in the past. There would once again be a situation where nations were separated and conquered each other. …
