Chapter Three - The House

(Y/N) was getting seriously tired. Is had been two minutes of walking since she had left the school building to follow Jotaro. Even though she knew that healing the nurse would've taken a lot of her energy, she didn't think it would've been that much. Her legs felt weak.

She was walking from tree to tree, staying behind every single one of them, trying to regain her breath. She knew it was probably really annoying to Jotaro, but she couldn't help it. After she decided that she had to stop walking, the girl sat down under a tree.

Just then, Jotaro stopped in the middle of the road and took a short glance back, searching for (Y/N).

"Are you gonna show yourself?!" he shouted quite roughly turning around, expecting to see (Y/N) behind him. That shout could have easily scare the girl, but right there, under the tree, she had already fallen into a deep sleep. Once he has seen her, Jotaro pulled his cap over his eyes. "Yare yare daze..." he sighed walking straight to (Y/N), only to lift her on his shoulder, just like Kakyoin.

She was as light as a feather, so it was no big deal for the student to carry her. Suddenly, one of (Y/N's) arms wrapped itself around Jotaro's neck, making him flinch. For a moment, he thought she was secretly trying to strangle him, but then he realized she was only having a bad dream and needed to hug something.

When (Y/N) stopped shifting and trembling on his shoulder, Jotaro could hear a short whisper coming out of her mouth. "I have... Faith in you, Jot-ugh..." the girl said slowly, then fell back asleep, before she could finish her sentence. Even so, the buff guy understood exactly what she had said.

'Cute.' he thought while another "yare yare" came out of his mouth, his cheeks getting a slight tone of pink. Humming, he continued his way home, not giving a single damn about the people who were passing by, looking confused and frightened in the same time.

While he was getting home, his mother, Holly Kujo, was cleaning up the room. All of sudden, she looked at Jotaro's photo, then took it, mumbling that he was surely thinking about her at school. Her happiness was shortly cut off by Jotaro's arrival. She jumped when she saw her son being slightly injured, carrying two other students on his back.

"J-Jotaro! What about school? And who are those?" she panicked. "One of them is covered in blood!" the woman shrieked. Holly stretched out her arm to touch kakyoin, worried of the worst. "Did you..."

"Stay out of this." Jotaro ordered his mother, turning his back at her. After asking the woman where his grandfather was, he left her room.

Holly way getting really worried about her only son. The fact that he didn't really talk to her anymore made her feel like a bad mother. "But, I can see right through you..." she said to herself, taking from the floor the photo of Jotaro she had dropped. "Deep down inside, you're still a sweet boy!"

A little thought made him turn his head slightly to her.

"Hey."

"Hai!" his mother flinched.

"You look pale today..." he said, his voice low and a little bit worried. "Are you okay?"

Unprepared for that kind of question, Holly was surprised by Jotaro's sudden concern about her. With the purest smile on her face, the woman answered happily with a "yay", then told her son that she was absolutely fine. The boy sighed and continued his way to his old man's room.

*

Tens of minutes had passed since (Y/N) had fallen asleep under some tree, while she was following Jotaro. She wasn't expecting to be waking up in any other place than that tree. However, when she slightly opened her eyes, she couldn't believe where she was.

(Y/N) was lying on the floor, beside a wall, in front of her, on the other side of the room, being Jotaro, Kakyoin, laid on the floor as well, and the two other elder men, the girl had seen in the morning. She recognized Jotaro's grandfather though, but the other one was still a mystery for her. Without moving a single muscle, the girl watched closely what was happening right in front of her eyes.

(Y/N) couldn't catch the whole conversation, but she knew that Jotaro's grandfather was telling the others something very important. The old man kept speaking. "Dio uses his charisma, his intoxicating charm, to overwhelm and control. It's how he ordered Kakyoin to kill us!"

The girl gasped from the other corner of the room. The men, apart from Kakyoin, turned their eyes to (Y/N), who was slowly starting to regret waking up. With a confused but also relieved look, her classmate's grandpa greeted her. "Oi, you finally woke up!" he said with the same loud voice as that morning. The girl looked at him blankly. "So, will you tell us your name or..."

"Old man!" Jotaro's strong voice brought him everyone's attention.

"Hm?"

"We can deal with her later." The look in Jotaro's eyes made (Y/N's) body tremble. He turned his head back to Kakyoin. "What were you saying about the flesh bud?"

The person looking like an Egyptian man cleared his throat. "As I was saying, I went to Cairo as well, but, gladly, I escaped from Dio before it was too late. Sadly, looks like it is too late for this young man."

"Too late? Not so fast." Jotaro objected, his cap covering his eyes. The bulky man kneeled down next to Kakyoin, his Stand appearing next to him.

"Wait, Jotaro, it's too dangerous!" the others warned him, but he didn't listen. That pissed (Y/N) off. Why did everything had to be his way? Why couldn't he listen to someone for once? Even though he wanted to help the pink haired guy before he died, he still should've taken the advice of how dangerous it was. She sighed and came a bit closer.

Jotaro was perfectly aware of what the flesh bud could do to him, but he didn't care. As long as that thing was getting out of Kakyoin's head, no matter what it took, he was fine with it. Besides, Avdol had said that Star Platinum was one of the most precise Stands he had ever seen. The boy slowly grabbed the flesh bud and started pulling it out, to everyone else's horror.

(Y/N) was watching him, terrified of the thing that was slowly entering Jotaro's body, while his Stand was trying to take it out from Kakyoin's head. It made her feel even worse when the guy with pink hair opened his eyes.

Seeing Kakyoin's wide open eyes and the flesh bud's tentacle crawling up his arm, made Jotaro feel sick. His upper lip twitched in a small sight of despair, but he didn't let anyone see it. Then, he remembered what (Y/N) said to him, while she was unconscious.

'I have faith in you, Jotaro...' her voice echoed inside his head. He didn't know why or how, but her statement made him feel capable of finishing what he had started. Focusing all of his power on taking out the flash bud, he did it, throwing the little parasite away. He didn't even realize he had thrown it into (Y/N's) direction.

The flesh bud flew straight to the girl. Jotaro's grandfather yelled at her to watch out. Her eyes widened, but in the last moment, before it could've touched her, Pure Silence tore it apart with her sharp nails. With (Y/N) sighing in relief, the Stand disappeared, leaving everyone else in the room staring at her surprised. The atmosphere was silent, until Kakyoin moved, bringing to himself the others' attention.

He got up all of sudden and checked his forehead. The flesh bud was no more. Kakyoin looked up at Jotaro who was standing back up. "Thank you... For saving my life." Kakyoin spoke with his usual soft voice, smiling. That was the first time (Y/N) had seen him smiling truthfully. She couldn't help but smile as well.

One minute later, Jotaro's mother came in with a medical kit, to bandage Kakyoin's wounds. She offered to heal the boy herself, but Jotaro didn't let her. "You don't want to fall back asleep, do you?" he asked, his eyes becoming a bit narrow. She couldn't risk having a fight with the delinquent, after she had seen what he had done to Kakyoin, so she let it be his way. Instead, he went to help Mrs. Kujo.

"Oi, Mrs. kujo!" (Y/N) suddenly remembered. "Have you tasted my mother's food yet?" the girl asked, pure curiosity and joy in her voice.

"What food?" the woman asked, finishing bandaging the pink haired guy's head. "Done!"

"This morning I gave a small package with food to your father..." (Y/N) looked at the old man, who was avoiding her eyes. Getting what had happened with her food, the girl sighed. "Nevermind..."

"Hey, old man!" Jotaro called. "What did you do with the food?" he said lightning up a cigarette outside the room.

His grandfather widened his eyes in surprise. "Well, I..." he made a short pause, took a glance at the Egyptian man, then pointed him while shouting like a child. "In my defense, Avdol ate as much as I did!"

"Mister Joestar!" the so-called Avdol responded, looking offended and embarrassed at the same time.

(Y/N) giggled as she saw the two of them arguing. At least they had enjoyed the food, even though Mrs. Holly hadn't had a taste of it. Right there, she noticed Jotaro taking a deep breath of his cigarette. That reminded her of the cigarette pack left on her nightstand.

'If mom sees that, I'm dead!' she thought while getting up from the floor. The argument in front of her stopped, Avdol and Mr. Joestar looking at her. She spoke quietly while fixing her wrinkled skirt. "I... Have to go home, mom is probably wondering where I am."

Jotaro's head turned slightly in her direction. He hadn't brought her here uselessly and he hoped the two old men knew that as well.

Avdol finally remembered how (Y/N) offered herself to heal Kakyoin, after she tore apart the flesh bud. "Wait, young lady!" he stopped her. "Your Stand... You are a Stand user, aren't you?"

The girl nodded with widened eyes. Mr. Joestar signed with a serious face, then tapped on the floor, as a sigh for her to sit down. She hesitated, but she eventually sat down next to the others. Of course, Jotaro couldn't sit on the floor like the others did, he always had to be different, so he just kept standing on his feet.

Jotaro's grandfather finally started explaining. "Most of the Stand users around us have sworn their loyalty to Dio, the man behind all of this. So, I feel obligated to warn you about them." The expression on the old man's face showed her that she should've feared this Dio guy. "Your Stand..." he continued. "It can heal other people, right?"

(Y/N) was surprised by the sudden question, but she somehow knew she could trust those people. "Yes, I can heal any kind of creatures... But it takes a lot of energy to heal big wounds. That's probably why I got here asleep..." she took a small glance at Jotaro. He was staring at a wall, probably thinking about something. She mentally thanked him for bringing her here. It must've been tough carrying two people at the same time.

"I see..." Avdol interrupted her thoughts. "Could you show us your Stand?" he asked politely.

"What do you mean...?"

(Y/N's) sentence was cut off by a giant flame coming from Avdol's body. One moment later, in front of her eyes appeared a spirit with bulky body and a bird head, fully covered in fire. "This is my Stand, Magician's Red!" Avdol said mightily.

Amazed and surprised, Holly dropped the medical kit on the floor, making everyone look at her. Embarrassed, she picked it up and went outside. "Oops, I'm sorry, I'm going to go now!" the woman smiled and left the room.

Going back to the conversation, Avdol asked (Y/N) once again to show him her Stand. Knowing what she had to do this time, the girl agreed. Right away, timidly, her Stand arose from her body, it's white hair swinging slightly to the right, covering her eyes.

"This is Pure Silence." (Y/N) said, her voice being low and shy. She had never shown her Stand to anyone else before. She expected the others to judge her, but instead, she got surprised by Kakyoin complimenting her.

"(Y/N)..." Kakyoin said with his soft voice, smiling, stretching out his hand to the girl's Stand. Someone had finally called her by her name, so she didn't have to introduce herself anymore. "It's beautiful!" Kakyoin looked at her with a caring look. Her cheeks flushed red, but she looked away from him immediately. Jotaro's eyes narrowed and his eyebrow twitched.

The girl looked outside the window. The sky was getting darker and darker. Her mother was surely home. (Y/N) wasn't going to get distracted anymore, so she got up from her seat and told everyone she seriously had to go. Mr. Joestar nodded, as Avdol's Stand withdrew into it's user. The girl walked out of the room, but stopped by the door. She turned her head slightly, wanting to say something, but she couldn't. She continued her way home.

When she wanted to get inside her house, the door was locked. She knew her mother would've never kept the door locked unless (Y/N) was home with her. That meant the woman was not inside the house.

'Well then, I'll just take the key out of my bag...' That was the moment she realized she left her bag at school, when she left with Jotaro. If her mother wasn't home by then, she could've been home only by the morning; it was getting even darker. (Y/N) panicked. She couldn't get into the house through the window, they were all locked as well. The school would've been closed by then and the hospital was quite far away. Besides that, all of her money was inside her bag, so she couldn't go there by taxi. There was only one last thing to do.

She ran through the neighborhood, to the house she had just come from. She didn't want to, but she had to ask Mrs. Kujo if she could stay there over that night. As soon as she got there, breathing heavily, she knocked at the door. To her surprise, the woman answered the door quite quickly. (Y/N) spoke first.

"S-sorry to bother again, Mrs. Holly..." she stuttered embarrassed. "My mom is not home and... And I lost my keys a-and..."

Holly smiled kindly. She didn't even need to hear the whole explication to accept what the girl was asking. She suddenly hugged (Y/N), the girl gasping in surprise. "Of course you can stay here over night, dear! I'll get you some pajamas!"

Happily, (Y/N) laughed, two or three tear drops falling down her face. "Thank you! Thank you so much!" she said. With the corner of her eye she could see Jotaro, looking at her from beside the door, with no emotion showing on his face. She smiled at him, for a moment even seeing him smiling back. It was almost not visible, but she caught it.

She saw the guy she hated so much really smiling at her. And she enjoyed it.
