A Surprising Arrival

"It's- it's a slaughter!"

"One Man Army!"

Travis dashed between players, every swing claiming another life. A singular player dominating the field.

The various Guild Leaders furrowed their brow at the sight. Whispering amongst themselves. Abe turned to mist, Travis lifted a palm and gathered a dark energy into its center.

The latest update brought far more to the game than what was stated. This also meant more opportunities. One small detail was that since now players had to use Skills with their own effort, small adjustments could be made also.

Due to Travis' training with Mana Control, along with his previous experience playing the update, he was able to shorten the time in order to charge [Depth's Beam]. This was done by simply accelerating the charging process.

A dark beam extended from his palm and enveloped several players. The damage he caused more than they could withstand, turning them to ash.

Abe reformed in his hand and Travis sent out two dark crevice shaped attacks. Carving into several more players.

It had only been a minute, but hundreds of players had died already. This incited fear to many.

Travis pointed Lumen, a piercing white light extended from the tip of the sword. It pierced through several players, killing them instantly.

[Piercing Light]!

Funneling MP to maintain the effect Travis swung the sword horizontally. Finishing off many more players in a blink of an eye.

"This guy-!"

"We-We outnumber him! He can't hold up! His fatigue will-!"

Travis carved through several more players, "You'll die before I sweat from effort!"

As he battled he gained tons of tokens, he immediately exchanged them the moment it his max and fired off several skills. His ring also began to take effect, slowly increasing his strength every second. Adrenaline pumping through his veins.

The players began to hesitate, not willing to step forward next. Soon a circle of space formed around Travis, the border filled with hesitant players.

Travis laughed and shouted, "How does it feel?! To be stopped by someone with strength you can't compete against! This is how the solo players feel, the small groups! The non-Guild players! You push them aside and flaunt your strength to keep all the benefits to yourself!"

Uranium grit his teeth, "Guild Leader, what do we do? The guy looks barely phased by this, and we haven't even gotten a hit in."

"Use our trump cards, if he does not die then we cannot stop him."

"You mean?!"

"If we cannot stop him here and now, we will be forced to oblige to his command."

Uranium tightened his fist, "I'll relay to the others."

A shout soon filled the ears of the crowd, "Retreat! Fall back everyone!"

Travis watched, he knew this was a ploy. If they had gathered this many people just to retreat after a small fraction had died. That would just make them laughingstock.

He assumed that they had a trump card, something to tire him out. Once he was weakened they would jump back into the battle to finish him off.

If he was weakened that is.

Meanwhile support for Dot rose exponentially. As more and more players tuned into the stream and created posts on the forum in support of his actions. They grew tired of being pushed around by Guilds!

-Was this Dot's goal to begin with?-

If you all can remember, when Dot first came to the surface he had targeted only professional players that were in the high level Guilds. Perhaps he always had a goal in mind to loosen the grip Guilds had on the game.

-End-

-I support Dot!-

The Guilds have pushed around my friend group and prevented us from doing dungeons! Their actions are despicable, and it was about time someone taught them a lesson!

-End-

-Dot is leading the game to its downfall-

Guilds play a huge role in the game economy, if he succeeds then we will face a crisis! It is of our best interest he fails and has his account deleted!

Is what the haters would say! Kill them all Dot!

-End-

-Haha! Another repeat of the Plains Of Plague massacre!-

There was a small post on the fight that happened at the Plains of Plague, it seems like Dot is pushing forward!

-End-

Player Dot rose in popularity! From becoming the feared powerful player, to the hero of Non-Guild players. Support rose steadily, without a single dip.

Several NPCs surrounded Travis. He already gained some insight on their strength with his Eyes of Trinity. There were about ten Second Stage NPCs. He believed their sole goal was to kill, or weaken him. That was the problem with Guilds, always believing that if one person wasn't enough, add more people.

Travis tapped the dirt with his sword, "I suggest you all leave, I would rather not take the life of those who reached the Second Stage."

"No hard feelings okay? We're just doing this to make some cash."

Travis sighed, "Sure, no hard feelings."

He released his War Sight. The NPCs felt a crushing pressure surround them from all angles. They all dropped to their knees, sweat falling from their faces.

The one who spoke felt a blade touch his chin, making his heart stop momentarily. Travis spoke coldly, "You lot aren't there yet. Your lives aren't worth money. Leave."

He released his War Sight, which caused them to scramble and leave. Travis pointed at the group of Guild Leaders standing in the distance, "So? What next?"

Seven Vows, the Guild Leader of the number one Guild Raven Thread closed his eyes, "We cannot beat you, we will oblige to your demands."

Travis laughed, "That's rich! However do you remember what I said?"

"What?"

"You would eat a heavy loss before I died. You came to me, inflicted me with an Orb of Gluttony. Gathered thousands to fight me. Now you want to surrender? Not happening, everyone who is here will die. You will face a heavy loss for messing with me."

"Don't push it!"

"See? I knew it, you still think you can recover from this. Don't you get it? You lose! Just like Infinity Base, except this time it's by one person! The number one Guild? The top Guilds? It's all worthless!"

"You're far too arrogant Dot! We will listen to your demands! Is that not what you wanted?!"

"That was only part of it! I wanted to teach you all a lesson!"

"You go this far and we won't listen!"

"You have no choice! Don't you understand?! You were only able to put up this fight because I let you! I gave you a time! I came here alone! Yet you couldn't do anything!!"

"Our reach is far beyond what you can comprehend."

"Haha! But your wallet isn't! Can you withstand the expenses as your Guild Members are being slaughtered on the daily? As your buildings are being destroyed?!"

Travis appeared amongst the Guild Leaders, "You get it now don't you? You've lost. A loss greater than you've ever witnessed. Yet. . . I don't feel apologetic at all."

The Guild Leaders dropped to the ground. All dead without putting up a fight.

Travis extended his voice with mana, "You will all die! If you have an issue seek your Guild for compensation! If they can afford it!"

The players began to flee, yet it was futile. Hundreds died in a blink of an eye.

They understood now, they never stood a chance to begin with. Dot was merely toying with them, instilling fear into their hearts.

That fear was at a rolling boil now.

Travis stood on top of a pile of corpses. He paid no mind to the loot. It would skew the message he was trying to send.

He teleported next to a couple of lone players who did not flee. Upon realizing his arrival they immediately lifted their hands, "We aren't-"

"You're one of the ones live-streaming this. I know. I've come to deliver a message to those watching."

They sighed in relief, then quickly urged him on.

Travis gestured behind him, "It's a mountain of loot. Drops from the very Guilds who stopped you from obtaining it. This is my gift to you, compensation for the trouble."

Travis suddenly looked up, a frown forming but wasn't witnessed due to his mask.

The livestream followed, and a huge body appeared in the sky.

The reporter couldn't believe it, "A. . . a dragon?!"

A figure fell from the sky, their descent slowed before touching the ground.

Travis' expression wavered, but still remained unseen under his mask.

That face, that red hair, that confident look, the two axes!

He was familiar with this, the number one player in the world from his previous timeline!

Opportunity Strikes!

He had heard rumors of her having a Dragon as a familiar, but to think they were true!

Travis spoke in a low tone, "I didn't expect you to be here."

"Oho? You recognize me?"

"What do you want?"

"Hehe, I'm not against your idea and all that. It's admirable to go against the Guilds. You have my respect for that. However you also gained my interest, you seem to be a top level player. With you on TV for the hundreds of thousands watching, you wouldn't mind me asking for a spar would you?"

"I'm not in the mood for a friendly spar."

"Ah of course I'm not looking for a fight where we hold back. I'm asking you to go all out."

Travis calmed his wavering heart, Opportunity Strikes was a monster. Her level of skill wasn't something that anyone could compare to.

He had always hoped to fight her with his newfound ability, but for it to happen so soon!

It was the first time Travis was a little unwilling to fight.
