"He wasn't going to kill you."

"Not just then, after." Tuni's tears came through her voice. "I was in the shower and I'd thought he'd won and I'd found this old razor blade. I remembered the scars you showed me and I couldn't quit when you hadn't. I threw the blade away and never told anyone. Wherever I am, whatever I'm doing. I'm always going to love you. You know that, right?"

"I know. You go find what you need to find. I'll be here."

"Goodbye, Marilyn."

"Goodbye, Tuni."

She'd just hung up when the phone buzzed again.

"Are you alright?" Anna asked. "I saw your song and it killed me. Babs is still crying."

"I'm Ok," Marilyn said. "I have a favour to ask of Babs."

"Sure, let me put her on."

"You are sheer, fucking genius," Babs said and sniffled.

"I think someone is fixing votes on the show. Do you think you and your friends can find out and get proof?"

"We'll blow the bastards out of the water."
