"Going hunting right now is not a good idea," Joe could see the boys weren't convinced. Hell, at their age, he wouldn't have been convinced. Tom and Steve looked at him with a look letting him know they were hunting, whether he liked it or not.
"OK," Joe said, "Go to the east of town. If you follow the riverbank there is a big open area the moose like to winter in. There's lots of willow for food and thick bush for shelter. Take the radio with you. If you shoot a moose, you'll want some help with it."
The boys high fived each other.
"If you see one of those helicopters, stay out of sight. You don't need that kind of trouble."
